This is a very technical non-card issue.
Is there a way to find a list of local judges, and their ranks so I can interview for a level 1 judge position?

Is there a way to make artifacts hexproof? http://gatherer.wizards.com/Handlers/Image.ashx?multiverseid=74644&type=card http://gatherer.wizards.com/Handlers/Image.ashx?multiverseid=205337&type=card Nope. I answer that with this guy. http://gatherer.wizards.com/Handlers/Image.ashx?multiverse...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
krenko is the jankiest card in draft i've run into, if you're not red or black you can't remove it easily, he never attacks so you can't kill him that way, and he generates huge numbers of goblins to chump block with, I run white/black and white/green a lot in drafts and he's just a giant roadblock...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
So Wizzards is trolling us. Everyone expected Jace to be his usual bullshit self. And he came out normal for once. This new bitch though, HOLY GOD. Throw in some red with that B/G to give them haste and BAM those 3 tokens with "Your opponent looses" win! Not to mention it's when they deal...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
This one I'm pretty sure I know the answer to, but I'm not 100%, because I'm still trying to figure out when each set of effects apply when. I have out a black 1/1 deathtouch wolf token, a Stromkirk Captain and Olivia Voldaren . If I shoot the wolf token, does it immediately become a vampire as well...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
Terminate returns! Slightly nerfed, but it's still a 2drop straight up "Fuck you" card. That or planeswalker makes it a very nasty spell. I think my favorite thing I'm seeing in this set is the return of shock lands. Chromatic gate is going to be a high value rare. Jace is generally a hig...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Let's have fun with a different situation. I have a token copy of Academy Rector that dies. Can I use the trigger, or have state based effects already exiled the token, preventing me from searching for an enchantment?

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Now for a rather interesting question about Blazing Archon.
If I controlled one, could an opponent attack my Planeswalkers? The only reason I bring this up is because of the way Kaalia of the Vast's ruling says that it doesn't trigger if Kaalia attacks a Planeswalker.

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
A quick question about "Indestructible." What happens if you're instructed to sacrifice an indestructible permanent? (Specifically I'm thinking what would happen if you used the supposedly spoiled Rootborn Defenses with Geist of Saint Traft to populate his angels - would they sacrifice at...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
Bonfire. Easily. Frankly, it's better in my opinion. Not to mention it's worth $40 alone. I'd pick it over a foil Gisela to be honest. Though now I do want a foil Gisela... I wouldn't mind a Foil Gisela. She'd go great with my foil Tibalt, or my foil Tamiyo, or my foil Ajani. I don't know how I've ...

Stuffy Doll, plus Pariah Shield, plus Inferno, plus Backdraft equals lots of pain for my opponent. With Just the doll, Inferno and backdraft, You deal 27 damage to your opponent in 1 turn. Yeah but thats a long way to go for the 27 damage thats 19+3R and 4 cards. I'm guessing you don't play command...

It's obscene when you have a Tamiyo emblem out, and it keeps going to your hand.Kapol wrote:Pretty much. I see it being better in constructed decks that focus on flash and/or counterspells.

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
As far as I can tell it prevents reanimate type effects, as well as shutting down Snapcaster Mage. I'd imagine it'd also play havoc with persist and undying since as soon as they hit the graveyard, the ability ceases to work, though I could be wrong on that one. It prevents most reanimate type effe...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Short Answer: Yes. Long Answer: Copy effects like that essentially mean that the game will treat your Image as if it were a card that actually had "Dragon" printed on it. It has no link to the original source. A new Image copying the old one does not see "an Image copying a dragon&qu...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
Every of the effects mentioned generates token creatures for you to copy. There's a few more blue ones, like Back From The Brink which is token copies of creatures you exile from your graveyard, and spitting image gets you a token copy of any creature in play. You can also use Rite of Replication t...

So, if you get a mistake card from the next set, is legal in standard? ;) No, unless the card is a reprint from a card in standard. If he had pulled a Birds of Paradise with the RTR symbol on it, it would be legal, because M12 is legal, and Birds of Paradise is in M12. As far as I know, it would be...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Time for a few questions. One: If you change the casting cost of Myr Superion The change in mana cost will also have to be paid with creatures, or if you reduce the cost to 0, will it be able to cast it for free? Two: What happens if you control Endless Whispers and Heartless Summoning , then you ca...

You right-click on the step you want to do stuff in, and pick "Stop on my turn"/"Stop on my opponent's turn". My usual stops are: both my main phases and my declare blockers; their begin combat (for removing/tapping attackers), declare attackers (for flashing in blockers), decla...

It also changes the timing of the spell to an instant if it's not an instant. Be careful of misinterpreting this. Miracle lets you ignore timing restrictions, it doesn't actually change anything. Envelop , for example, will still work on "Sorcery speed" miracles. Good catch. I don't norma...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Miracle cards only trigger if they are the first card drawn that turn. Not sure if it also triggers if its the first card drawn during your oppenents turn. During each turn, the first card you draw, if it is a Miracle card, it will trigger. 702.92a Miracle is a static ability linked to a triggered ...

Just because a deck is in your colors doesn't mean that a lot of the cards will stay in standard after October. I know both of the M2013 decks feature several cards that will rotate out. The Green/White one has 2 razorvine Thickets, and the Blue/Red one has Red Sun's Zenith and Darkslick Shores. Th...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
So, I'm trying to start a blue deck. How can I get more islands? Assuming you're playing with physical cards, ebay is a great place to buy large numbers of land cards for really cheap, either as individual colours or sets of all five colours. Alternatively, if you're new to MtG, grab a blue intro d...
