Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Coward is a creature subtype, but isn't printed on any creatures as far as I know. Changelings (creatures with the Changeling ability) are cowards and they're warriors. They're also squid wizards. Boldwyr Intimidator makes changelings unable to block each-other.

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk
In practice, though, even when you've got them in hand, they're pretty hard to cast. I can usually get the mana to get Karona online, but not cast one of the Avatars. Also, the vivids are fine in my playgroup because there's usually a deck drawing attention turns before I need to start casting anyth...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Face-down cards are
Creature -
2/2
If it doesn't have a morph cost on the card, the Morph ability can't be activated.
Face-down cards have no CMC.
A copy of a face-down card is a colorless 2/2 with no creature types and no abilities. It'll also have no morph ability or cost.

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk
This is my Karona mono-god build; it's pretty shaky now because I have some slots filled with "I wanted to put this in the deck" that should be filled instead with mana fixing.

hooray for layers and timestamps!
I'm okay with the "base power and toughness" template now. It actually makes it easier to explain layers.

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
this is correct. If an effect (say Rogue's Passage) said "target creature can't be blocked this turn," then Turn to Frog doesn't change that. But Triton Shorestalker has an ability that makes it unable to be blocked, and Turn to Frog removes that ability.

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
I saw an upside-down rare in a pack yesterday; it also had a slight crimp on one side. it's not as bad as the box of BNG that my lgs has just finished going through. At least three commons from each pack were severely miscut. The border is double-thick on the left, and the card frame is right up aga...

It'll just be Land. Illusion is attached to the type Creature, and can only exist on a creature.
PI-Gideon is just PW - Gideon, unless he becomes a creature. Then the copy is type PW Creature - Gideon Illusion.

Yes, anything that interacts with a named counter can interact with all things that have that named counter on them. Fury Charm can remove time counters from Time Bomb.

Re: M15 Prerelease Experiences
it's certainly pretty bad short-term EV, but core sets are usually short print runs, and many of the new cards look like they'll have long-term value in non-rotating formats, so it's worth picking them up for long-term trading value. Notables: Ob Nix, Hushwing Gryff, Chain Veil, all of the new plane...

I have one of the many Blade Runner director's cuts. There are like 5? It's a bit ridiculous, definitely let us know if it's a director's cut, and what version. Re: Goofiest Game of Magic You've Ever Played
We had so much fun with a resolved Knowledge Pool on Saturday. We had to physically represent the stack at nearly all times because I was playing Counterspell 2! (You're still not doing that.), and the other corner of the table was playing Storm, and the Pool had been filled up with hard counters an...

I would also like to thank the many players who didn't care for their giant Garruk cards because now I have a playset. yeah, it's a less energetic matter-antimatter reaction
BUT if your Undying guy dies with both a +1/+1 counter and enough -1/-1 counters on it to kill it, it'll not come back, as it dies to state based actions before the counters annihilate each-other, and it had a +1/+1 when it died.

I can honestly say that Shahrazad is a card I've never seen played. I think I've seen all of the Power Nine hit the table, but not that one. Good luck finding it!
