Re: Standard Discussion

@Lyco: Eldrazi pile definitely looks like a barrel of fun, I've been having trouble curating it without just ending up Flayer Drone & Hangarback shenanigans, but sticking to colourless - curving up to Walker of the Wastes and Reality Smasher seems really hard to beat. Well, the "main idea&...

Re: Standard Discussion

So I got 2 Eldrazi Mimics, 2 Deceivers of Form, 1 Endbringer, and 1 Thought-Knot Seer through my (and my friend's/teammate's) cardpool and prize packs. So I've decided to attempt a weird Eldrazi pile for Standard. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/eldrazi- ... -zendikar/ Obviously a non-spooky-scary sk...

Re: OGW Pre-release: how'd you do?

Mythic mythic rare and rare spoils report - not including those that my friend/teammate has with him or the Expedition - from yesterday. I know he at least got 1 foil promo Fall of the Titans, 1 Crush of Tentacles, 3 Tyrant of Valakut, and 1 General Tazri: 1 Linvala, the Preserver 1 World Breaker 2 ...

Re: OGW Pre-release: how'd you do?

My friend and I went to the 2HG pre-release. Managed to get second place. Won 4 packs.
Opened the GB filter land Expedition. Traded it in for store credit to get 15 OGW packs.
Best parts? He got to play UR like he wanted with Surge and I got to play GW with colorless Eldrazi. Very fun.

Re: Standard Discussion

I'm brewing up a deck centered around my 3 favorite OGW cards: Eldrazi Displacer, Steppe Glider, and Wall of Resurgence. Goldfish-ing it on TappedOut at the moment, but the other creature is Knight of the White Orchid, with the rest being White Awaken spells. Not the best thing ever, but it's been f...

Re: Oath of the Goatwatch Spoilers

Long time no chat, LRR MtG forumites.
I seriously want to make a deck based around Wall of Resurgence and Steppe Glider. Throw in Eldrazi Displacer, too and go from there - the three are my favorite cards from this set.
Maybe try a witty name about disappearing and reappearing lands?

Apparently the response WotC has to the leak is giving the official spoiler source art and flavor text.

I'd almost feel sorry for the person, but I have to remind myself that leaks like this are big no-no's even with WotC who seem to allow small leaks anyway.

I've always put Wins-Losses-Draws like that, sorry for the confusion.
Granted, I did go against a Jaddi Offshoot-stall 'til ramp deck. I won because I kept up the pressure.

Re: Standard Discussion

I went 2-2-0 last night at FNM. Sunscorch Regent did really good work, as did my Stasis Snares. Looking at the World Top 1-16 decks, I'm pleasantly surprised to see GW Eldrazi Ramp among the number, so my collection of Standard Ramp from Tarkir, Origins, and BFZ (so far) is looking better. Don't hav...

Re: Oath of the Goatwatch Spoilers

There's no guarantee it's a legendary cycle. We have an allied color legendary (RG) and an enemy color one (WB); for there to be a cycle, one of these would have to not be part of it, it would have to be a non uniform cycle (a few ally pairs a few enemy pairs), or a ten card cycle. We had three col...

Kelly Digges did very well today in writing Kozilek's presence, at the very least doing well to describe the cosmic-horror and reality-distorter aspects.

Meanwhile, Kiora gets a whopping piece of humble pie.

Re: Standard Discussion

I'm considering making a Budget Vile Aggregate deck. I was just thinking the other day that could be good. Just on its own it's big enough to block Anafenza and Rhino, and comes down in time to do so. Maybe some kind of BR devoid aggro with Wasteland Strangler and Dust Stalker could do work. The sy...
