Re: GriselBorn Apostle
One recommendation: run Bloodbond March, Blood Artist, and Harvester of Souls. I have a fun Modern deck with those, and drawing six cards on each Shadowborn Apostle activation is pretty sweet (though getting them all Extirpated was painful, if pretty hilarious, especially when my opponent was runnin...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
One thing that helps with deck building is figuring out what exactly you want to do. You've got some aggressive elements (Rakdos Cackler, Mogis's Marauder, Pain Seer, etc.) and some grindy ways of winning (your scavenge creatures) that don't necessarily work the best with each other. If you want to ...

Re: Akroan Horse Standard Deck
My first thought was adding Mogis, God of Slaughter, but then I realized that was a real nonbo with the Akroan Horse. Perhaps you could add in Act of Treason effects to steal your opponents' stuff, then sac to Tymaret?

Re: NEW VIDEO - A Fortunate Teller
Of course Kathleen's character is legit; she has a certificate in hexmanship and everything!

If you're going for big sea monsters late game, don't forget to include Whelming Wave for flavor reasons.

Re: It's Modern Time: Help Me Build a Deck?
At my LGS, I play the budget mono-black discard deck I found in this article, which is pretty budget (I picked up the cards for about $15, though pricier cards can be added in).

Re: The New Chess
As for the video, my only complaint is that FIDE was mispronounced (it should be "fee-day"). But, it's an acronym… I don't see how it's supposed to be said "fee-day" at all. If anything (assuming a French speaker) it would be "eff-ee-day-uhh". Illogical though it might...

Re: W/U Aggro Heroic (HELP!)
Looks pretty good. I would start off with the Banisher Priest in the sideboard and bring it in against less controlling matchups (all too often I've faced the scenario in which I exile their guy and swing, only to have them Doom Blade my Priest and eat another attacker); also, Blind Obedience seems ...

Re: W/U Aggro Heroic (HELP!)
I would start with taking out the Auras (easy to get two-for-oned) and Glimpse the Sun God (doesn't help when you get behind) and replace them with Nimbus Naiad, Daring Skyjek, Lyev Skyknight, another Gods Willing, and Pacifism; possibly some Brave the Elements. That way, you have more creatures (an...

Re: The New Chess
I was looking at Chess 2 a few days ago and the king crossing the middle rule seemed like the worst thing about it to me. So much of what chess (4.5.1) is about is the endgame where the king becomes very active, often moving all around the board. When there's so much space on the board it's often h...
