Re: Heroes Unlimited Play By Post?
I'm actually drawing from five different books (Heroes Unlimited, Armageddon Unlimited, and Powers Unlimited 1, 2, and 3), of which three contain an average of just under 100 pages of ability information. I feel that's more than I can reasonably share online, and they aren't available for sale as e-...

Re: Heroes Unlimited Play By Post?
Mutant is, in my opinion, the least restrictive power category in HU. I would want each player character to start out with one or two minor super powers (out of about 250), and as they level up, they'd potentially gain additional powers, or have their powers upgrade from minor to major (of which the...

Re: Heroes Unlimited Play By Post?
I selected Heroes Unlimited because it's a system I'm familiar with, am fond of, and have the books for. I'm afraid I haven't actually heard of any of those other systems.

Re: Heroes Unlimited Play By Post?
Woo! That's two so far. I'm hoping to run the game with four to five players, but if not enough are interested, I think I can adapt to fewer. Are either of you two familiar with the system? Would you prefer for m e to present a few character examples, or would you like to come up with your own?

Probably from the same collection of fake bills they were using to 'make it rain' during Desert Bus in the past.

Heroes Unlimited Play By Post?
Original post is in collapse tags below. This thread is now the Out of Character/Character Development thread for the Heroes Unlimited game I'm running. If you're curious about the system, want to comment that you're enjoying reading, or are interested in joining in to play, this is the place to spe...

Re: Doctor Who
So at some point in the future, I can imagine an episode where the Weeping Angels make a reappearance, and there's a moment when all seems lost - and then, nothing. The Angels are stone, not moving even when unobserved. Their intended victim slowly moves closer, eventually clearly blinking, yet noth...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Korvys - Actually, the person who the replacement effect affects gets to choose the order of application (Rule 616.1). I learned it as the controller of the abilities get to choose in APNAP order, but apparently that's no longer the way of things. 616.1. If two or more replacement and/or prevention ...

Re: Abzan: Flip it Turnways
Yeah, 14 one-drops is pretty nuts. I think cutting the Badgers makes sense, especially if I'm dropping half the Incremental Growths. So: -2 Charging Badger -2 Incremental Growth -2 Disowned Ancestor -1 Longshot Squad +2 Satyr Grovedancer +1 Ivorytusk Fortress +1 Abzan Falconer +1 Abzan Battle Priest...

Re: Abzan: Flip it Turnways
Hmm... Would dropping two Incremental Growth for two Reap What is Sown be a good idea? I really do like it - it's an instant, it costs two less than Incremental Growth, and it hits as many targets, which is the main reason for having included Incremental Growth in the first place. In regards to remo...

Abzan: Flip it Turnways
Abzan: Flip it Turnways! is a casual deck I just threw together intended to highlight how much I love the idea of the card Hardened Scales. It is also a deck that I'd like some feedback on - It's listed on Tapped Out as a Standard format deck, mostly because I wanted to force myself to work within ...

Awesome, these are some very conclusive replies. Thank you, everyone; I won't feel like I'm missing out by buying the PS3 version, then.

XCOM EW Query - Console VS PC differences?
I have a fairly simple question, but alas my Google efforts seem to be for naught. I can't seem to find anything that indicates whether there are any differences between the PC version of Enemy Within and the PS3 version. I'm really hoping someone here might know if there are any functional differen...

Re: Kahns prerelease
With the MTGO Khans Prerelease starting in a couple of days, I'm curious - who is going to be playing? Any plans for a specific clan? Will you be playing the prerelease Sealed or Draft events?

You were correct, MowDownJoe. After a couple of days of backing and forthing with Wizards customer support, the issue was finally resolved by simply running the .NET Framework repair tool.

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk
Worth noting, to go infinite with Food Chain you have to be exiling Prossh himself to the enchantment's effect. That nets you mana equal to his converted mana cost, albeit all in one colour. Exile two kobolds to add the missing colours of mana, plus as many as are necessary to pay the increased cost...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
You don’t choose whether the spell is going to be an Aura spell or not until the spell is already on the stack. Abilities that affect when you can cast a spell, such as flash, will apply to the creature card in whatever zone you’re casting it from. For example, an effect that said you can cast crea...

Re: MTGO Assistance
I have 64-bit Windows 7 Home edition as my only operating system. The only change that I can think of between when it was last working and when I first noticed it was no longer working was starting to play World of Warcraft again. Actually... Does MTGO use Java? Because I recently installed the 64x ...

Hmm... Well, I did re-download and reinstall the client, so I should have the most recent version. I was using the beta before the beta became the official client, and had no issues up until recently.

MTGO Assistance
So I'm having an issue with MTGO. Whenever I attempt to start it, the 'Verifying Application Requirements' window appears, and if there's an update, it will be downloaded and installed. Unfortunately, that's where it stops working. No error message, no pop ups of any sort, the window just closes and...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
At one point, I read someone saying online that the en-Kor ability broke up the damage into 1-point increments, rather than having the damage still be dealt as one block. Consequently, I was of the impression that having a Lymph Sliver out would allow my en-Kor creatures to functionally be indestruc...

Re: Kahns prerelease
I went 2-3 in the afternoon prerelease today. I picked Sultai, and was (I think, at least) rewarded with three Mythics in my pack - Two copies of Sidisi and one of the Temur Khan, Surrak. Wound up running four colours, excluding white. Overall, my deck played reasonably well. My average CMC was a li...

Re: Eleven Secret Herbs and Spices: Theme Decks
Weirding Shaman is probably the goblin you're looking for. It relies on having goblins already to activate its ability, but it does allow for you to build up your supply. Thallids still exist, and compared to most other token generators, they are rather slow. There are several ways to speed them up...
