LRRCast for nothing in particular

Postby Jer » 31 Oct 2009, 02:35

We were short-handed this week ... and recorded a short podcast ... which I forgot to edit for a LONG time ... bringing us to today. Enjoy it for what it is: the next one may be more ... topical?

Is it possible to have more Paul? Seems to me that the universe might break.

Morgan living like a tribal indian old-school on the UVic campus would probably be a great video, filmed as a nature documentary of the "Moronus Humbeckus".

I DEMAND a video called 'Nothing in paticular'

It'd be awsome... more awsome even.

I love that you feel the need to record a podcast, even though there is no actual reason to do it, and nothing is accopmlished by it (relatively). It warms my heart that there are still people like that in the world.

Who here ACTUALLY CARES for Modern Warfare 2 story? I am too tempted ruin the story for Matt... for obvious reasons.

Mods are great for PC... Counter Strike anyone? Yeah matchmaking is great on consoles but DEDICATED is pure awsome. Here's an example

Far Cry 2 vs Warhawk
Resistance vs COD 4
Killzone 2 vs WAW
Operation Flashpoint vs Batllefield games

Which has a better system? Dedicated servers rock without them PC's would have suffered so much.

I also hate IW too much to care about their copyright and will probably not buy it and if I do it'd be second hand.

Dedicated servers are neato but to be honest i kind of resented the persistent stat tracking of CoD4. It was annoying and detracted from the "just play a few rounds of the game". You had to grind shit to get the weapons you wanted. It wasn't really imbalanced against 'newbs' but it was annoying.

That said, if UT3 wasn't terrible i think dedicated servers would be doing fine

That actually looks like something I might want to watch. I do agree about him directing Halo after having seen that.

for the first minute or so, I definitely thought it was just a RL version of pocahontas.....and even after the whole thing - same basic underlying story...

The strategic censoring was fantastic, Jer. It really did make it sound way worse than it probably was.

And, yes, Avatar looks pretty wicked. I'm kinda psyched to see it after the new trailer.

Poor Graham.
And Paul could play all the parts by himself.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised with LRR going blue in the beginning.

I did let out a huge sigh when they did the "alien who appears dead but will spring to life when you get close" thing for the fifty gazillion time.

"I know you're alive and that you will attack when I get close, I think I'll just dismember you from where I stand thank you." You'll learn pretty quick to never trust a corpse you didn't make in that game.

Okay, now I really, really want to see a video where Paul is playing every role, whether it's because it's a one-man show, or because the rest of the crew has disappeared and there's no one else to do it. Even better if it's a video where the crew would be playing themselves, and Paul's doing his impressions of them.

Completing the podcast experience

Postby forkbomb! » 02 Nov 2009, 20:18

So I was walking downtown, listening to this podcast and lamenting its lack of Graham/Kathleen (Grathleen?), when I looked to my right and--lo and behold--saw both of them walking next to me. After doing essentially a dry spit-take I stopped, said hi and showed them what I was listening to. If Graham was creeped-out he hid it well.

Sadly, I did not run into Paul, otherwise I would have felt quite lucky to be the only one on earth to have the complete podcast experience.
None-hit wonder.
