LRRcast Marathon
Hey people
after watching every available video on the website, i decided to listen to the LRRcasts, i kept away from pod casts in the past because they were just audio but i needed moar LRR, so i gave in lol.
so far ive listend to the first 28 and have the next 30 on my mp3 player, judging by how many pages there are, theres another 120 to get through. they come in handy when getting the achievements for perfect dark zero, especially the miltiplayer ones :/
anyone else had there own LRRcast marathon?

Re: LRRcast Marathon
I prefer to give them my full attention, i.e. not doing anything else while listening. That said, it's nearly impossible to marathon them in this manner. Instead I chose to listen to one every night before bed. Sure, it takes longer, but I think you stand to gain more from them if you put some space between them.
Although, if you plan to marathon through 150 hours of LRRcast (taking necessary sleeping breaks of course) then more power to you.

Just call me Dylan. It's easier to pronounce.

Re: LRRcast Marathon
I did the same thing! After watching all the videos, I started listening to the LRRcasts.
They're nice to listen to in bed while I'm playing Marathon or just when I'm trying to sleep.
Speaking of which, has anyone else fallen asleep listening to them?
Those are some of the weirdest dreams I've ever had.

Re: LRRcast Marathon
Phunny story: for a lot of the time I was listening to all the LRRcasts, I was levelling up on Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. One evening I crossed my legs and put them up on the desk, and must have left them there for several hours while I was distracted by the game and the podcasts. When I eventually took them down, my left leg was seriously injured, and I couldn't move it without excruciating pain. It took about a week for the pain to wear off, but the leg still feels a bit weaker than it used to from time to time.
So the moral of this tale is: use the LRRcast archive responsibly, kids. Not being an idiot helps, too.

I'm starting a LRRcast marathon, trying to listen to 4 per day over winter break. (Dec. 17th through Jan 17th)

Re: LRRcast Marathon
I think watching the watching the relevant video(s) right before each podcast would be a good idea.
This reminds me: there is a lot of info in the podcasts that belongs in the wiki.

Yes. They definitely influenced my dreams, but no more so than all the times I fell asleep with the Desert Bus feed still going.
I do like listening to podcasts while I fall asleep, but I prefer to listen to LRRcasts all the way through once first so I can hear everything.

Yeah, me too.
The crew keeps me company when I'm home alone.

I do that too, which is when I really lament their volume issues (my car is unfortunately loud).

Re: LRRcast Marathon
It can be irritating but generally I find it's not really a problem, I just crank up the MP3 player and radio volume. The only time it becomes a problem is when the traffic news cuts in and deafens me.

that is actually a really good idea because if they don't mention the video name then you dont know what they're talking about

Even if they don't mention the video name, if it's been a while since you've seen it then you might not remember the details they talk about. That happened to me once, and I decided to rewatch the videos first every time since then.

I'm currently watching the videos & then listening to the relevant podcast every chance I get. I'm up to Somebody Has To Change. Only 2 years worth to go before I'm up to date!
I'm playing GTA4 at the moment so listen to the LRRCast instead of the in game radio.

Re: LRRcast Marathon
I recently fell asleep with my headphones on, listening to a playlist with several LRRcasts. I had a dream where Matt was trying to convince me to start playing WoW. It was really weird. There were other crew members present, but I specifically remember Matt. I don't remember what he said, but he was being pretty convincing.
