Postby James » 22 Dec 2009, 17:10

Huh. Not sure how I screwed this one up but I had it edited and everything but for whatever reason I never actually uploaded it.

I will post the other podcast tomorrow.

Are you going to ever use Paul's new place as a shooting location? We saw his old place, what, 3 times throughout the past 6 seasons of LRR?

So the continuity is going to be more like Seinfeld, now.. I was wondering what was going to happen.
"Flat beer or a lumpy mattress. Take your pick."
"I'd prefer a flat mattress."
"Hmm.. Well, it could be done.. If I take the lumps out of the mattress, and put them in the beer, you'd have a flat mattress and a lumpy beer!"

On global warming, I'm pretty sure climate change exists without humans or with them. Using fossil fuels just increases the rate at which carbon dioxide is put back into the atmosphere. Which is where it came from to begin with. I'm not good at breathing carbon but i think i can figure it out.

ALSO, on FF12, from Wikipedia:
Basch was initially meant to be the main character of the story, but the focus was eventually shifted to Vaan and Penelo when the two characters were created later in development.[6] The development team explained that their previous game, Vagrant Story, which featured a "strong man in his prime" as the protagonist had been unsuccessful and unpopular; the change regarding Final Fantasy XII from a "big and tough" protagonist to a more effeminate one was thus decided after targeting demographics were considered.[6] The game's art director Hideo Minaba has said that Vaan is not comparable to any previous protagonist of the series, which he explained as partially a result of the game using a different character designer than previous ones.[2] The geography of Ivalice, particularly Dalmasca, had an influence in the character's initial designs. When asked about the characters' revealing clothing, Yoshida commented that "Dalmasca is supposed to have a hot climate", and that the idea of the characters revealing skin was his.[5]

Henry Crunn? The "Matt sounds like Peter Sellers in the Goon Show" voice? I may not be big on peanuts references, but I'm pretty sharp when it comes to The Goons.

Anyway...Yay podcasts! They make me happy inside.

We tried to make it as close to the original scene as possible.

And you did a really good job. In fact, for a moment, I thought I had started watching the wrong video somehow.

I'm also humble enough to admit that, in my sleep deprived state, I mis-spell names and don't realise until several hours after my internet connection has been taken away that Jer was probably talking about Major Dennis Bloodnok anyway.

Fixed that for ya.

Statute, as in law; not "statue", as in big pointy thing.

Although Statutes could be used to poke people...

I think the joke was that a "statue" of limitations would be a wall.

Like in the podcast... That you listened to before posting in this thread, right?

Yes, but still. "The Wall" (especially as pictured above) I would never call a 'statue'.

From Wikipedia
The definition of a statue is not always clear-cut; sculptures of a person on a horse, called Equestrian statues, are certainly included, and in many cases, such as a Madonna and Child or a Pietà, a sculpture of two people will also be. A small statue, usually small enough to be picked up, is called a statuette or Figurine.

Many statues are built on commission to commemorate a historical event, or the life of an influential person. Many statues are intended as public art, exhibited outdoors or in public buildings for the edification of passers-by, with a larger magnitude than normal words could ever have for the common man.

Wikipedia backs you up, even. Wall =/= statue.

Wall, however, could be a monument.
