I would contend that Sonic games are not about going fast and jumping over things. The original games are about controlling the speed so as not to run into spikes or enemies. Then to utilize speed to accomplish specific tasks within the stages. Sonic's ability to go fast is akin to Mario's ability to fly, with the necessity for a ramp. To overuse it leads to a crappy game. And I think that the "Must go faster!" mantra that 'fans' seem to cry over and over is giving the wrong impression to Sega.

I would like to say that I enjoyed this new format podcast change. Twas interesting, although they did get a fair amount of video game talk in there at the same time. Mattcast would be huge! And I love James's very abrupt "We're done" towards the end.

I'm going to edit out Morgan's line of "make it entirely face punch" and do...something with it. I have not laughed that hard at anything in a LONG time.

**EDIT**: I made the clip, and was planning on making a 10 minute loop of Edward getting punched in the face, but a cursory glance at clips on youtube have failed to yield anything usable. I'm not gonna bother watching through both movies trying to find something...

Also, the movie was "My Best Friend's Girl," not Good Luck Chuck.

I just want to go on record as totally agreeing with Matt's assessment of how to make Twilight better. Long story short, I've studied the history of vampires in literature and it really bugs me how Twilight is considered part of that despite not actually having any vampires in it.

Also, I have been making my way through the podcast archive and started replaying Chrono Trigger after Bill was talking about it. Then I was listening to one tonight where the crew claimed that Robo's theme was actually "Never Gonna Give You Up." My mind is still blown by this revelation.

If that blew your mind... You've gotta see the Kirby comparison.

I am annoyed that Morgan did not jump at the chance to be representative of Dr. Teeth when he was suggested for what Muppet he was.

Dr. Teeth is fucking awesome and you should all be ashamed.

I used to be really excited about Starcraft II and then I remembered how much of that extra glitching and zerg rushing and general lameness was involved in playing the game. Really, I'm only bitter because I'm not good enough at RTS to do those things myself, but still.

I don't see why that should dampen your excitement for Starcraft II. Presumably, those things will be fixed.

No! Things are never improved. People never fix things. Everything stays the same no matter how bad it is.

Wow... That was supposed to be a sarcastic joke, but it's true.

I think I'll go stick my head in the toaster oven.

I probably have some old parade shoes I can send to you guys... though shipping charges might make it more cost effective to just find something else.

I heard somewhere that they were actually breaking the engine so that some of the same techniques and skills could be used. Specifically, I heard this about one of the air units, but I can't remember where I heard this.... I have a feeling it actually may have been this podcast 0.0

At any rate, I feel like it will end the same way my brief adventures into HoN/DoTA ended: everybody knows exactly what they're doing and I get destroyed while I'm trying to have a good time.

But I'm still cautiously optimistic.

Well there's still the single player, and you can always play with friends, I'm sure that a LRR group will be set up.

In Starcraft I suck so bad my fun is mostly in screwing over the other player(s) and trying to survive as long as I possibly can. Winning is a very unlikely possibility so why strive for it over alternative options? :P

I like the new format of the podcast; my only complaint is that you guys didn't do enough AskLRR. Now, that's not to say I don't want you spending time talking about the videos, but the end of that thread is getting further and further away.

Generally, though, good podcast.
Just call me Dylan. It's easier to pronounce.
