LRR as a 9-5 job would require a pretty big reworking of the business model. Though, it wouldn't be impossible if you released 2 things per day. Not saying two huge videos, but you guys all have your niches and it could work as a handful of things. Music reviews each week from Kathleen. Jer's D&D minute. Matt's new game. Etc. Similar to TGWTG's setup.

But it would require a drastic leap of faith with a relatively low success rate in the past.

---

I reached level 23 on a human rogue in WoW before I quit. But, I quit mostly because the girl who got me into it dumped me.

I got one guy up to 37/38 or so before I got tired of grinding Stranglethorn Vale, then when the expansion came out I got another guy up to the mid-20's, but couldn't hold my attention past that.

I heartily support the idea of another Star Trek series with Wil Wheaton in it.

I have been hesitant to accept the whole 20% thing for WoW, partially because it says "Users" and not "Subscribers". This could mean they are factoring in trial accounts, which 1: Cannot go past level 10 and 2: are created en-mass by bots to advertise gold websites in major cities, which would drastically skew the data.

However if it does actually apply to just subscribers, I can see why they are doing the whole revamp with cataclysm.
and now; back to me.

I played WoW on two separate occasions. The first time, I got a human rogue to the mid 20s before getting bored. The second time I played with my brother, and reached level 57 as a Draenei warrior before, once again, getting bored. I find most games fail to hold my interest more than a few months, max. WoW and Diablo II are the only MMO I've ever really gotten into.

Also, awesome podcast.

Kathleen said she liked Really good, story-driven JRPGs.

Those words do not work together like that in a sentence.

So you believe "really good" and "story-driven" are exclusive terms? I must say I disagree. Even if gameplay takes a backseat to plot, that doesn't immediately discount any value the game might have.

You can disagree if you wish, but it's my opinion that I have yet to encounter a JRPG that had a good story, or was good and story-driven.

We did, yes. He's a really nice guy.

Not sure why you asked that in this thread... Did we mention Wil in the podcast?

So, Tim. Green flowed through you and onto your computer screen? You might want to get that checked out....

Is it bad that I can still remember that the Level Select code for Sonic the Hedgehog is Up, Down, Left, Right, A, Start? Or that when I went back to the game after who knows how many years to help me write my Best Worst Fanfic, I automatically tapped in the code without thinking as soon as the menu came up, despite actually wanting to play the game from the beginning?

Nevrmore wrote:You can disagree if you wish, but it's my opinion that I have yet to encounter a JRPG that had a good story, or was good and story-driven.

Really? Not even Chrono Trigger? Because it's very tightly story-driven - even the sidequests spin off from the central plot - and even Yahtzee grudgingly came close to admitting that the story is well done, which is the equivalent of anyone else saying that it's amazing.

Also, it's amazing.
