Re: LRRcast for Past Ransom
A slight correction about the Escapecraft Minecraft server:
Through the magic of the Multiverse server plug-in, we recently brought back Escapecraft versions 1 and 2 as fully accessible worlds. Your old creations (and a mostly pre-grief v2 Central City) are now back in their full glory. Limits have been placed on how far out you can travel in the v1 map, though, so if you had something way out in the boonies, you'll need to contact an admin to get the structure moved.
Also, because of the aforementioned plug-in, we don't need to wipe any more. If a new resource is added, we just generate a new map and add a portal to it in the Hub.

Re: LRRcast for Past Ransom
Graham, I had the same birthday experience in the UK. I turned 21 in London while on junior year abroad from the US. Fortunately some friends from the states were also in Europe and they came to celebrate with me. However, all my UK friends didn't quite understand the monumentality of the event. I feel like I need a do-over 21st birthday. Maybe at 42?

Re: LRRcast for Past Ransom
The DB Chat is actually fairly active all the time, not just when Alex links to it via Twitter! ~20 of us have been hanging out there since DB4 ended.
If you have an IRC client, and would like to avoid using the rather terrible ustream.tv client, here're the details you need:
server: c.ustream.tv
channel: #desert-bus-drivercam
You'll also need to authenticate by entering /nick <ustream username>:<ustream password> (without the <>)
If you don't have an IRC client, XChat is fairly good, as is mIRC.
I don't usually post on forums, but I felt this PSA was worth signing up for.
Back to obscurity I go!

Re: LRRcast for Past Ransom
the way i did it is in mIRC, is i added ustream to the server list, and there is a password box there, so i just put my ustream password in there and it connects automatically.

Now, if you'll excused me, this Liverpudlian has some tyres to go st-... check.
Haha, notice it says "Glasgow-ish", I'm not a 'wigi. In fact I'm not even a drinker, havn't found any alcohol I like the taste of yet

21st is still a big deal in the UK, although for no obvious reason. 18 has all the real importance - drinking and being counted as an adult and allowed to do anything within the law - but people still like to make a big splash about their 21st.

Does that mean I've got to put the tyres back?
Also, my 21st was shit, 8 hour shift at McDonalds, a Spiderman cake from my friends and no decent music in the club.

Re: LRRcast for Past Ransom
Loved my 21st. Got smashed with my (former) gf and friends. Stayed up until 4am arguing video games and the exact height Super Mario could jump.
And not the Mario of now. Back when he was SUPER Mario.
Also, totally hanging in the DB chat now.

I don't even remember my 21st birthday, and not in the "I was so plastered" way, either. It was just that uneventful.

My 18th consisted of watching Fast & Furious 5 and then going home, eating pizza and watching Have I Got News For You with my girlfriend and four other friends.
I expect my 21st will pass in a similar fashion.
