Uh, I think it's broken. Or maybe I'm doing it wrong.

Graham wrote:Regarding podcast expense, we spent about $1000 on gear. Those mics are $110 each, and the board was $400, plus all the cables and stands etc.
That's just the physical gear.
It's not... cheap to get a quality podcast.
That's true! The initial cost and such is rather hefty, I guess I just found it a bit more pleasant, seeing as RT's vidcasts immediately went into sponsor-heavy mode, often interrupting funny conversations right in the middle just to read something out, when others tend to simply mention them at the beginning and/or the end.. Didn't mean to imply "ehrmergerd evertherng merst ber frer!".. Sorry if that's how it came across! D:

After not getting around to doing a podcast for the last five months, the good doctors LRR spent the first ten minutes of this one brainstorming about how they want to do a podcast every week. It's like rain on your wedding day.

See, the plan is now to do 'casts on Fridays, rather than try to cram them into our normal Saturday shoots.

I'd just like to say that if you ever run into a situation where no less than three people on the podcast have facial hair, you need to refer to that specific episode as "Beards! Beards! Beards!" and nothing else.
Edit: Okay so. I actually went back and found the post from Graham's sparingly-used tumblr where some of these titles are mentioned, and... you guys...
Bee Magic.
You kind of have to.

Loved it, perfect sound. Just could we get some alex, maybe for just 5 minutes? Dr Derp keeps bad feelings away, or something like that

Dr Derp listens to the voices in our heads so we don't have to.

This just in. James leads a secret double life as rust monster.
Also, what's wrong with "Wizard Chat?"

Re: LRRcast for 2013-01-12
Listening to you talk about DnD Next and the "Theatre of the Mind" really got me thinking about my friend and DM.
We're doing a homebrew pen-and-paper game based heavily on Final Fantasy. The loot, story, map, and character spells/stats (my White Mage is getting nerfed because of his ridiculous healing skills :c ) were all created and handled by him. Somethings we give him heck for weird stuff ("Why is there a desert surrounded by ocean?" "Why do we have SO MANY PHOENIX DOWNS?" "Why did that hobo turn out to be our arch nemesis?" "Did X Player seriously find a 'secret passage' on a dragon?"), but the stuff he does is amazing. There really ought to be a "Hug A DM Day." This is my first DnD-like experience, and I owe him a lot.
I also agree on "Theatre of the Mind," I agree with the idea that battlemaps are unnecessary. I'm sure more veteran players have plenty of reason to smack a whelp such as myself down for saying that, but I really like how anything can happen, regardless of position. It bugs me how every enemy seems to effortlessly charge at me and insta-kill me (again, DOZENS of Phoenix Downs), but I still prefer how just imagining the battle works.

While I do support Wizard Chat in my heart, since it has been thrown out I've been rolling ideas through my head for a name. I got stuck on something like "Cantrip's" or "Cantripping" or something along those lines. I like Snapcast though too.
As to a 4th cast, what about something to do with gaming like others have suggested, but doesn't have to be focused on like DnD, maybe some board games or other Roleplaying games, I'd be all over that.

I'd also like to plug the work-in-progress Video Availability wiki page:
http://wiki.loadingreadyrun.com/Video_availability
To my knowledge, the complete list of post-Season-1 weekly updates we can't watch is:
The LoadingReadyRumble
Sound Wars
Pillow Fight '07
This excludes The Whatever Thing, Phailhaus, and ISC episodes, since many of those are missing.

I'm still glad it wasn't ever Sigma Tau Delta... because I'm a member, and that'd just be too weird.
(Actually, we took great pleasure in making as many jokes about it as we could, and at a Christian college to boot.)

Re: LRRcast for 2013-01-12
Sigma Tau Delta would actually make more sense, since Tau is typically T whereas Theta is Th....
I'm not really a fan of the name "Wizard Chat." I think that name would only make sense if it were WotC itself doing the podcast.
(Wouldn't a "Magic Podcast" require Bill's mom to be there to tell the sto--oh, wait, that's something different. ;) )

Um... You guys. A Magic podcast. With LRR. How can people not know what to call it?
Bump in the Night!
Edit: Ah, it seems that AlexanderDitto in the Wizardchat thread already suggested a name that included BitN. Carry on.

Re: LRRcast for 2013-01-12
Yay LRRCasts!
Good to have it back, naming wise I've no suggestions, but an idea that might work for "podcast 4" could be a "cool things we came across this month and would recommend"
Be it games, books, news articles, technology, albums, TV shows, toys, films - whatever. As it'd be stuff you came across that past month it could be just about anything that really took your interest.
Perhaps the use of an egg-timer or similar would be wise to prevent anyone (Matt ) from endlessly gushing about "X" thing they've just discovered though =D

I have to agree with Wizard Chat for the MtG podcast.
And I also have to say that the animated opening is all kinds of awesome!

Doesn't have a long history with you guys, but love what I've seen so far.
I really can't see an MTG cast being done by y'all called anything other than:
The Hat Chat
Who knows, you might even get some new milliner fans!

Loving the new setup and return to podcast-dom. Well done, Drs Lrr.
Also, thanks for the completely un-begged for plug.
Do I owe you more battenburg now or something?
For the sake of ease, The What Have You youtube channel, and the What Have You website. We also have a twitter and facebook page.
Just saying.
Brill podcast, guys.

Re: LRRcast for 2013-01-12
i have a great idea for a 4th podcas...
the derpline/qwopline/otherline
maybe only for like half an hour, have one crewmember, be it alex, G* or anyone else really, do improv comedy based on the format of derpline, with off-camera other crew members providing callins ect, maybe even like twitter suggestions etc.
otherwise, AWESOME to see a podcast again.

I think that might be infringing on Alex's podcast a little too much, Iamafish.
