Weird, why am I left with the vague impression that Cam, James, and Alex are all about to fight a villain from Adam West's Batman series?

Because dutch angle and camera and stuff yeah that was sort of a reach

Ah, good Ole Desert Bus, or as I like to call it, "THE WEIRDEST WEEK ON THE INTERNET!" (trademark pending)
I am in the unfortunate camp of "the second movie is complete fluff and useless to anything" regarding the Hobbit however. Peter Jackson just needs to kick the trilogy addiction already.

Okay, is my monitor broken or is the camera tilting for this? Am I going insane here or something?

Just a stray thought on the subject of creators going back and changing stuff. Tolkien went back and changed the hobbit after lord of the rings came out. He changed the whole interaction between bilbo and golum. The bit I love is that the way he explained the change is that because its ment to be the book bilbo wrote, there and back again, he said that the original version was a lie told by bilbo to cover up that he stole the ring.

Love hearing about desert bus, looking forward to the next podcast when more people can struggle to remember back to that dreamstate week.

One thing on fans getting upset about bad movies. Totally agree that for the most part we need to do a better job getting over things, but I think the reason I get frustrated is that I know it will turn people away from the source material.

The Last Airbender is a god-awful movie. The cartoon is one of the greatest pieces of fiction I've ever seen. Because the movie was so horrible, there will be people who would have otherwise bought a dvd set, or checked the series out on netflix who will now say "they made a cartoon from that piece of crap movie? Pass." That is the part of it that upsets me. You have an opportunity to teach a much wider audience about something great, and you essentially tell them they shouldn't waste their time
