Are you where you thought you'd be 10 years ago? How about 20? Join James, Paul, and Cam on this weeks LRRcast as they tackle that very subject.

This is a great topic. I'd love to hear more about this from the rest of the crew.

I know exactly that feeling of not knowing what to do if suddenly the path your on doesn't work out. I spent years in a post grad program that I wasn't enjoying because it was what I felt my future should be until I finally left and was so much happier with my career after I did so.

I'm actually remarkably close to where I thought I would be 10 years ago, and only slightly off from where I thought I would be 20 years ago. Being older than you guys helps with that though, as 20 years ago was still basically part of my *censored due to suddenly feeling old and not wanting to admit it* and it was awesome!

Ten years ago I figured I'd be married to a different person than I will be in a few months and in a much more lucrative career. Thankfully I didn't marry that one person, and overall I'm probably doing as good as I realistically could with my certifications in the present market.

Probably ended up close to the same place to live, though :P

I'm nowhere near where I expected to be even as short as 6 years ago. And 10 years ago? I was still in a relationship that I didn't realize was detrimental, and I thought I'd end up marrying Jenny. 20 years ago? 1995, I was in 9th grade, and I didn't see ANYTHING past school at that point, except for a couple "pie in the sky" ideas.
