Wait, "New Prince of Tennis" got recognition, but no "Haikyuu!!" in the Awaiting part? They're both so solid though.

Ian, you should also check out ¨Baby Steps¨ since it's also based more on real tennis and has a lot of fun characters.

Snow White with the Red Hair was good, but Shirayuki was so close to being a good character. There are times where she finds herself in trouble and almost manages to get out of it on her own, only to ultimately be saved by Zen. This happened enough to bother me, because she's so competent otherwise. I, like Heather, would have liked to see more about her, and not her in relation to Zen.

Charlotte was just a mess. It was at least 3 different shows tonally, and a lot of character development just gets thrown out the window with a plot device. I'd say you won't regret watching it, but at the same time, I cannot recommend it.

School-Live has a really great first episode because you can see what's going on with the zombies in the school yard, or the broken windows, and a few other things. It pretties it up, but doesn't hide it. This was my favourite non-sequel from the summer season.

Non Non Biyori Repeat was fantastically chill. Despite the cute fluff, there's a surprising amount of actual character to the characters. Just as an example, take a look at Kaede (Candy Store). Kaede is always extremely honest, leading to all the girls teasing her, and her getting stressed out, but the fact that she's so good with the girls speaks so much to her character.

Working!!! was great - stuff happens, and Yamada is still the best.

Beej or Paul or Graham, you dun goofed.
I sure enjoy watching LRR!

I wouldn't want to meet them though. I'm very allergic to cats and fun.

A message to heather

in the podcast you mentioned they never showed the kings powers in joukamachi no dandelion?

they did show his power in the second half of episode 8.
his power is seeing a person's emotion as color.
you might not notice this because it shows him when he was young and he looks a lot like the oldest brother.

Now that I think about it I do remember that being shown. I'd forgotten that had happened once we had gotten to the last episode of the series. Though honestly every time we went to watch that show I kept trying to remember which character had what power. With there being so many characters and so many small stories getting told it was easy to forget who could do what. And if their ability was more subtle when they used it, it didn't help in trying to remember exactly what they could do.
