Aces over Europe was awesome the one time I got it to run. I ended up playing much more A-10 Tank Killer and A-10 Silent Thunder

Cameron, I also built a computer for DoW 2. You're not alone.

What I remember most about the Aces games (besides 'flying' a bomber aka flipping through all the gunner positions and shooting down fighters) was the copy-protection: a spinny disk where you had to line up two things, and then type in the word that appeared in the window.
Oh, and cheating and driving my A-10 on the ground to shoot tanks
I think we had a swanky 486 at that point, with a 28.8 modem for our second phone line (wooo), a real Sound Blaster with the game port that I could plug my joystick in to, and a 14" color monitor. Watch out!
Gin. Vermouth. Olives.
