Scottish? What does Beowulf have to do with Scotland? Is not Beowulf set in Denmark?

No, that's Hamlet. MacBeth and Beowulf I am pretty sure were scottish.

Mind you this is out of the mouth of the lucky bastard who WASN'T assigned beowulf as part of Lit. class.

Beowulf is not Shakespearean, Scottish, or Danish.

It is a classical Anglo-Saxon text. The author is unknown. The character Beowulf himself is a Geat, inhabiting Götaland, which is in modern Sweden. It is the story of his trials against the monster Grendel, Grendel's hag-like mother , and a Dragon.

GUHHHH No one knows who wrote Beowulf, and it was written like 600 years before Shakespeare!!

Ok, I DIDN'T SAY Beowulf was written by shakespeare. I said that I thought MacBeth AND Beowulf were Scottish.
