THE THREAD FORMERLY KNOWN AS THE NEW ASK LRR QUESTION THREAD
Re: THE NEW ASK LRR QUESTION THREAD!
First-time questioner, found out about you guys through the Escapist (apparently I'm the only one who noticed the link in Unskippable ) and just had to go back and watch all your content, you guys are hilarious. Anyway, to the questions.
Why is it that on the oldest page of the podcast section, there are 2 copies of 2009 podcasts listed as being recorded on January 1st, 1970? Is that just the default earliest date for the client or something?
On the same topic, why does the auto spellchecker in the forum say podcasts is not a word?
Obviously you guys watch your old videos, do you ever go back and listen to old podcasts?
Also, any chance of there ever being a DVD bundle pack? Or perhaps even everything ever on some Blu-rays? (I won't even ask for season one, as apparently it didn't exist )
Finally, which is more likely:
1. Abraham Lincoln, Chuck Norris and Edward James Olmos all bursting through your door this very instant begging to become involved with the site
2. You ever finishing the askLRR thread
(I'm guessing that by the time you read this, you will be between a year and a half and two years behind)

That is also how I discovered LRR, shortly after Unskippable began airing weekly.
And a question for LRR:
What would it take to convince Morgan to do another Whatever Thing video (not including Man Cooking)?
Just call me Dylan. It's easier to pronounce.
Re: THE NEW ASK LRR QUESTION THREAD!
Also, how does it make you feel when Zero Punctuation trashes a game you love? (For example, I just watched him trash the new transformers game that Matt spent 2 podcasts praising)

To the first: January 1st, 1970 is the start date of the unix clock, which keeps track of time by counting the seconds from that date (which results in the 2038 problem, when the 32-bit string storing that second count overflows, which would basically result in a real version of Y2K. Fortunately updating to 64-bits fixes the problem for the next few thousand years, and we're in the middle of upgrading now). So it's just a glitch (or maybe an easter egg?) that Paul hasn't gotten around to fixing yet, and that would be the default for the system the site runs on.
As to the second: The forum doesn't have a built-in spellchecker at the moment (to my knowledge, at least), so that would be your in-browser spellcheck that doesn't have 'podcast' in its dictionary. Should just be able to right click on it and add it to the dictionary.

Re: THE NEW ASK LRR QUESTION THREAD!
My guess would actually be that they were uploaded without a date attached which would result in that Unix date being applied as a default.
Re: THE NEW ASK LRR QUESTION THREAD!
Along with some of the people above me on this page I also discovered the site through Unskippable. Since then I've realised how much better than the rest of the Escapist you are!
Anyway, on to the actual question:
Which Man Cooking has been the crew's favourite and why? In terms of either taste or which was just the most fun to make.

Hi, I am an undergraduate engineer at the UVA I first found out about you guys through the Escapist via Graham's x-blades review, which caused me to have the most unproductive next month as I watched all of your videos.
Seeing as I don't know if these questions have been answered before or when this question will be answered, I'll throw a couple out and whichever one you guys like the most you can answer.
What are your favorite detective/shooter movies and why? (I was thinking along the lines of Hard Boiled and A Better Tomorrow)
Marvel comics or DC Comics? (Also, favorite comic of the crew members)

Re: THE NEW ASK LRR QUESTION THREAD!
Considering Jer's escapades with Ninety-Nine Nights, does he plan to play (or has he played) the sequel? If so, do you think it's better than the first one, and have/will you farm it for achievements like you did the first?

Re: THE NEW ASK LRR QUESTION THREAD!
Which members of the crew have seen or will go see the Scott Pilgrim movie or Tron Legacy?
I assume Matt will be seeing the Scott Pilgrim movie since his avatar is Ramona.

Who still plays WoW? If there here, are they, or were they, excited for the new expansion pack Cataclysm, and if there's a new expansion pack coming out, or that came out when this is asked, are they excited/were they excited for it?

Re: THE NEW ASK LRR QUESTION THREAD!
Found this years before I'd heard of any of these people:
http://www.furious.com/perfect/weapon.html
On a tangent, as I've gotten deeper into non-mainstream music, I've made the rather depressing (occasionally disturbing) discovery that I legitimately enjoy most of what's in this article. Two questions here:
- What (collectively and individually) are your weapons of musical destruction?
- What (again, collectively and individually) do you enjoy listening to that draws a generally transgressive reaction?

Re: THE NEW ASK LRR QUESTION THREAD!
How long in advance of when we see them do you actually write and shoot videos?
Re: THE NEW ASK LRR QUESTION THREAD!
If the members of the LRR crew were upgradable (like a video game, not swapping you guys for a new crew), what would be notable in your next level of upgrade?

Related to that question, if you lived in a fantasy-type world where fighting was commonplace, what weapon(s)/magic would you specialize in?
Just call me Dylan. It's easier to pronounce.
Re: THE NEW ASK LRR QUESTION THREAD!
Is there some supposed staple of 'nerd culture' that you haven't actually seen?
I, for instance, have only seen bits and pieces of Tron, and never watched the Princess Bride.

Dear LRR crew:
What do you think of Master Gunner's habit of reading the AskLRR thread and then answering our questions himself, even though we're asking you for your opinion?

What you need to do then is grab a bottle of jagermeister, chug it to whip all memory of that so-called "remake" from your mind, and watch the original.

Re: THE NEW ASK LRR QUESTION THREAD!
So, I've been listening to Daft Punk a lot more lately and noticed something funny. Go back and listen to Around the World. Has Morgan ever been musically inclined with french people? If you catch my drift.

Re: THE NEW ASK LRR QUESTION THREAD!
To those of the crew who play TF2, what do you think of the updates they've put out:
Are you excited for/pleased with the engineer and polycount updates?
What do you want from future updates?
Which ones do you absolutely love/hate?

Re: THE NEW ASK LRR QUESTION THREAD!
Has the move to the Escapist effected what sort of videos you do? Are you more or less likely to do certain styles or themes?
One thing I can see is you are less likely to do topical video game videos as main LRR instead using the idea in ENN.
