LRRcast for The Dinner Party

Postby James » 26 Apr 2009, 12:27

We ended up using the mic that Graham and Paul have been using for unskippable last night. It seems to be louder and a bit clearer, but I will let you all be the judges of that.

I assure you we will break it out again next week considering we probably won't have as many people around as we did last night.

Enjoy.

In what world is the podcast harmless?

Have you never heard of Podcast dermatitis?

I too play games for the sole purpose of having fun, and furthermore, to blow the heads off of ragdolls. If my fun is reduced, or I find myself less capable to blow heads off, than I will do something to fix that. I don't care about anything else.

When a game cheats me out of something I did, usually through complete bullshit level design or horrible autosaves, I cheat in response. Usually this is most frequently with Bethesda games.

Cool podcast guys. Just curious, but who was it sneezing repeateldy at the end of that podcast?

On the note of cheating and game enjoyment, I do cheat, but only after I've beaten a game normally. I do not consider consulting a FAQ to be cheating.

Exploding podcasts are hazardous though, so the warning was much appreciated.

I'd pay the nominal fee of 5bux to keep being a forum leech.

Yeah, I'd pay. This essentially is my life, so not much choice in the matter.

Ideas for the last 2 people mmo game:
-Voltron style death match, with people controlling various systems in the body
-Everyone (except you and one other person) is invisible to you, but can influence your environment. For instance, you try and open a door, but someone in another world with only 2 people tries to close the door at the same time, and you can no longer get through.

I'd debate paying for the forum.... If it was a 1 time fee I might actually go for it (although probably begrudgingly).

I'd pay the £2.50 to come to the forums too. I will be buying more LRR gear as soon as I get more money from my rehiring at GAME. Also, no mention of the updating of the site? Ahbadewaaah?

On the subject of internet subscriptions: I'm currently very tempted by one that's about 350 a year. Won't say what it is aside from that it isn't porn, but let's just say that a 5 dollar fee would not deter me from coming here.

Great 'cast. And cast.

Maybe a super-secret section of the forum for sponsors only? That way you get the best of both worlds!

You just called me out on it, I'd have to pay.

How else would I continue to beat Elomin on post counts?

I would pay for this. I'm such a sucker.

And by the by, Kevin Smiths forum is also requires a small fee (goes to charity I think though).

I'm procrastinating right now, just F5-ing the forum, despite having the Norton Anthology of American Literature open in front of me, notebook in hand, an Openoffice.org window open, an assignment due last week, and an assignment due tomorrow. Yet everything I type goes into a quick-reply box somehow

I've got something like that going on.
I have to rewrite a paper for tuesday that was due two tuesdays ago. (Rewriting because my first draft was total bullshit.) Then practice bass and keyboard.. and finally write out all the section for my Music Theory class final project by hand since Sibelius is horribly unintuitive unless you know the program.

Steering back on to topic.
the LRR crew seem to love their bananas, don't they?
One, if predisposed to an enjoyment of horrible puns, could say that they're bananas over bananas.

I probably wouldn't pay to use the forum.
What's the big deal about post counts anyway? Whenever I find myself caring about how my e-peen compares to everyone else's, I back off for a few days.

I like to think my modest number is due to my tendency to not say anything when I have nothing to contribute to a conversation.

Pffft. I'd pay 5 bucks for the forum if it kept idiots out.
