If you want one, we still have them.
The backlog will go up eventually, we need to ship them to PA.

Oh, are PA managing your store now?

As posted on twitter: wanted to order Magic DVD. DVD: $20. Postage to Scotland: $15 at cheapest. (and a "mere" $51 for shipping as the most expensive.)

When I ordered a Phases shirt from the old storefront I was $10 shipping for it.

If PA are using that pricing, can there please be some arrangement made for digital download of the video. (I would submit to any DRM "necessary", and would also be fine with it only being on the store until DVD's sold out and no repeat later DL's available. I can backup fine, I just don't want to pay $35 for a bloody DVD.)

EDIT: also I don't check the forums and store enough anymore, so can you guys start putting something at the end of credits or something when something new is available? I know escapist might have a problem, but maybe put it on CP since PA run your store anyway?

We're going to be running ads soon. This only went live last night.
And I'm looking into that shipping.

I'd like to just clarify I wasn't meaning to harass you or get uppity, I was just posting here so that other people know it's a problem, which also means other people know you are investigating. Rather than just me on twitter.

Also: I am Michael Douglas.

Would you like me on set some time if I am ever in Canada? :P

EDIT: Just remembered I was going to ask if you could maybe mention on the end of videos sometimes if you have a new item on the store. Like I follow on twitter and stuff, but sometimes miss these things. I understand there might be a clause on the escapist videos, but if PA handles the store now put it on the CP credits?

Or maybe just mention it on the loading time closest to the items addition to the store?

I say this because I seem to be lurking this forum occasionally, but not often enough to rely on it all for things and also stuff.

I've already ordered from the new store, and can't wait for more to come back into the store. :) Looking for the shirts to come back, as well as getting the Season 2 & 3 DVDs. Also can't wait for the digital download section to come back up.

So, out of curiosity... has anyone actually recieved an order from the new storefront? I bought 2 It's Magic and 2 Whatever Thing DVDs on the 17th. The address on the confirm email is right, I've been charged- but no shipping notice or updates or anything.

Anyone know what's up?

Still says this on the store:
"THIS TITLE IS CURRENTLY BEING PRINTED, AND WILL SHIP AS SOON WE HAVE IT

THIS COULD TAKE SEVERAL WEEKS. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED."

Not sure if that was up when I ordered, or if I just didn't see it due to hurrying to get an order in before work. Either way- groovy. As long as I know what's up. :D

Wow, I didn't know the store was down. What happened? Also, is music no longer available?

I've been away from LRR for a few months & Twitter even longer, so I've missed some things. :(

The music is unavailable for a while after they switched to the Penny Arcade store. It will be back.

Oh weird. Why'd they switch to the Penny Arcade store?

Fast and better shipping with lower prices was what they said during PAX.

Graham said everything was being handled through the Penny Arcade store. I can't quote him on exactly what he said but if you watch the PAX Prime Panel from this year I know he talks about it there.

There will almost certainly be better shipping rates (it will no longer cost more to ship items from Vancouver to Victoria than it does to ship them from Vancouver to Florida), but leaving that aside, consider: less time spent doing mundane things like packaging and shipping products means more time for LRR to create. Creating things is what drives their income and their fan base. More time to create means more fans and more income which means the crew is much better off in the long run.

The PA store is run by people whose primary focus is doing shipping stuff, making it as fast and efficient as possible. There's also an economics of scale: 1000 packing tubes are always cheaper than 100 packing tubes. Letting PA handle the store makes tons of sense. (It's the same reason tons of webcomic creators banded together to put their products on Topatoco rather than having individual stores.)

Yeah the shipping on my It's Magic DVD was very cheap and I already got a e-mail saying its shipped with tracking info and everything. It looks to be a better deal for everyone involved so far and will defiantly make things easier for LRR giving them more time to do what they do best.

The shipping to Australia however seems to have gotten more expensive. When I ordered two DVDs a year ago I paid $11 for shipping but if I was to order two DVDs now I would pay $22.

If I may make a suggestion, you are going to Pax Aus anyway, just wait and buy them in person.

I am cheating by getting stuff shipped to my parents in Canada then picking it up over Christmas.
