I know I'll have my passport with me!

...yes, I also know this is a domestic flight for me, but I went through the trouble to get one, so I may as well use it. Besides, I've learned the hard way that not all TSA people recognize a Kentucky state driver's license at first sight...

Pencils can be adequately stabby if used with enough creative vehemence and passion. We'll let you join if you wish. ;)

Just looking at LRRcon, and considering going. I was just wondering if anybody else would be/up to taking the train from the East Coast? I am in Boston for the year (would normally be in the UK), and think it would be kind of fun, especially with possible other LRR fans.

The quiz is definitely something I'm interested in. Getting some teams together should hopefully be pretty easy.

Yeah, the term Fan is a derivation of Fanatic. I think anyone showing up at a expo for LoadingReadyRun Fanatics will do pretty well in a trivia contest. Its like Graham has said "you all know more about LRR than LRR does."

I no longer have anyone splitting the room I reserved, so the odds of me going at this point are close to nil.

So, just curious about the trivia thing: the blog post and info page mention registering teams in advance. Is that something that needs to be done, or will we be fine making teams that day?

You can also make teams day of. But if you already have a team, you can register ahead of time.

Hrm. I'm notoriously bad at pub-style trivia. Even moreso when the topic is "all things geeky", which generally translates out to "those specific geeky things about which I don't happen to be geeky". Blast!

Heck yes I'm excited! Quick question: Do we need to bring boosters to participate in the draft? From the blurb it sounds like they'll be provided, but I want to make sure I can play!

I'm not going to be able to make it out, which is probably a mistake on my part, but alas! New baby, don't feel comfortable bringing him and I don't want to be gone from him even for a night, let alone two. Wife gave her blessing for me to go, but I'm just gonna have to be there in spirit.

I love Loading Ready Run, you folks have brought so much joy into my life and you deserve the loud and thunderous standing ovation you no doubt shall receive when you first walk out on that stage.

I would assume they'd be provided, to ensure that everyone's playing fair and also that everyone's got the right boosters to draft with.

That said, if people bring their own boosters, a chaos draft might be fun. :) (If you don't know what it is, a chaos draft is where you bring 3 of whatever (15-card) boosters you want to the table and draft. If it's 8 people, you could potentially have up to 24 different expansions floating around the table, though that's unlikely.)

IMPORTANT! READ ME!!!

Hey everyone! Earlier in the the thread a couple of you mentioned that when you were trying to book rooms, the hotel website was telling you there weren't rooms available.

THAT IS A LIE! THERE ARE STILL ROOMS AVAILABLE!

If you had to book at a different hotel, or weren't able to get the special LRRCON rate please let us know ASAP so we can:

1. Get you booked at the Doubletree, so you're in the same hotel as everyone else
2. Get you the correct rate

If this applies to you, or you have ANY questions about your hotel booking, email [email protected] and [email protected] so we can fix it!

Thinking about it, that's what happened to me when I was looking to book weeks ago. I called up the hotel and just got rooms at the non-LRRcon rate. I probably should have asked about that earlier.

...considering how I'm no longer going, I should probably cancel that reservation.

For those of us currently in far away lands, could the panel and the show please be recorded and posted on the interwebs? Also could The LRR Trivia Grand Prix be released after LRRCON?

Also can you hold another LRRCON when I live closer to its location?
