LRRcon update!

As mention earlier in this thread, some people were having problems with the hotel booking page showing that they were sold out, when there are definitely still rooms available. For anyone that was having problems or any last minute LRRcon attendees, we have further extend the deadline to receive the discounted LRRcon rate to Friday, May 2, 2014.

Just make sure you book through the

So I believe I've asked before, but any word on what the body count is looking like? Because If there's like 600 people going this could be very different than I imagine.

I may actually experiment with long distance train travel. It's the cheapest option, but it is 24 hours exactly.

Yeah, I think the LRR crew's time is going to be at a premium. I'm hoping the hordes don't wipe them out!

If we haven't split into warring tribes that each worship yet paradoxically hold captive a crew member, then we haven't done our jobs.

Aaaaactually.... I do know how to cross stitch, sew (costumes and clothing) and hot glue stuff on wreaths. However, I don't have any project sot bring with me, and I don't want anyone else to laugh at my slow stitching. :)

Just as a friendly reminder: This IS a gathering where a lot of nerdy stuff is going to go down. Thus, if you have a 3DS, it may be in your best interests to bring it along, make sure Streetpass Plaza is fired up and ready, and keep it in your pocket/bag. Because it's stupid and silly fun, that's why.

Besides, do you REALLY have any other plans to legitimately get a mark for Kentucky on the US map? Most likely not! :-)

There's nothing wrong with taking your time stitching. It save you from redoing the stitches- like, 9 of them, if the adage is to be believed. :P

The crew said on a couple of the live streams that they plan to have the playmats and sleeves for sale at LRRCON if there are any left but demand has been high.

Darn. I should have pre-ordered them. Except... I don't think I was into Magic when pre-orders were open. Double darn.

So, for those of us who have a budget restriction keeping us from going to LRRcon (or people who want to get their trip free), There's now a chance. 6 days... got to come up with something and film it with 6 days.

Quick question to the crew (if they read this), is what's looked for more like a single 'X ways to Y' scene, or just a really short, almost crapshots-esque, version? It's just hard to more than a scene or two in 30 seconds.

We're looking for a short version of an X 2 Y video. You probably couldn't get more than 4 individual Xs into 30 seconds.

I think that 2 things in that post should be clarified about the deadline...

1. It's Midnight PDT. Most people should realize this, but it's best to make it completely clear.

2. Does "Midnight Monday" mean the midnight after Sunday or the midnight before Tuesday? From the rest of the wording, I believe it's the midnight after Sunday, but I think that should be clarified.

Since they're paying for airfare and the hotel, I'm assuming they already booked the room and just give you the information to pick up your reservation.

Also, what if the second person, or our 'friend' doesn't live near us? For example, what if we wanted to choose a second runner as the other guest, or we have a friend who lives elsewhere in the states who'd love to go? Is there some way we could coordinate that? Not saying it will or would happen, but it might be relevant.

Edit: Alternatively, could you share the room with someone else if you won? Like have three people in it?

I know this is a lot of questions, but my brain has decided to think about every detail despite not even having an idea yet.

I'm pretty sure the only fixed thing is the two tickets.

Does this mean that only the person that wins the contest will be able to touch hands? Because I was kinda looking forward to shaking the crew's hands. =(

I really, really want to go. I'm even in talks to room with someone to split the cost. But it would be $350+, and I'm not sure the pros would outweight the cons.

Never the less, I will be making my video this weekend.
