Forum bugs/wierdness?
Welcome to the new LRR forums. I think you will find that they look and work pretty much like the old forums. But better.
One of the major new features we have now are medals. At the moment we just have one for >1000 posts, but soon we will be making more for The Runners and other contests.
Also note that the search index is currently being rebuilt, so search probably won't work for an hour or two.
Post any bug reports in this thread.

Re: Forum bugs/wierdness?
Looks good. Some minor style changes, but nothing that makes a real difference and won't take long to get used to. Like the quick-reply boxes of course. Only bug I've noticed thus far is it reset what threads I've read to what it was earlier today, but I'm assuming that will resolve itself as soon as I finish closing the tabs.

Re: Forum bugs/wierdness?
Not a bug per sé, but the column indicating the latest post on the 'new threads' page is just a tad thin - the last two characters of the dateline wrap to an extra line.

Quick reply! And the quote boxes are prettier! Looks nice all around.

Hmmmmm. I guess your avatar didn't got missed. Sorry about that notomtolose. Try re-uploading it.
Re: Forum bugs/wierdness?
Because of the new quote boxes though, I think we may want to ask people not to use the quote tags in their personal signatures.

Ah yes, how obvious. That was quick work on the dateline, too! Cool!
Hmm... it seemed [i]italics[/i] didn't work a moment ago? [b]Testing...[/b]
Ooh, I like how it notifies me of posts made while I'm typing!

Re: Forum bugs/wierdness?
well, my sig is gone, and I can't bring it back. :(
the system also doesn't allow the use of [img] tags in signatures, which prevents the use of userbars.

Re: Forum bugs/wierdness?
I can agree with that Matt, presently my only real problem is the proximity in post count between me and Elomin...

Re: Forum bugs/wierdness?
<--- Doesn't have a problem with that. ;)
I do so love a clean and practical forumspace. Although, the new medals are almost as space-intensive! I understand many people just luuuuuurve flashy sigs and such, though.
Did you forget what was in it? If you're really that broken up about it, Matt, I just bet somebody 'round here has a printout of some thread or other containing your sig.
I love how the 'view new posts' link isn't exclusive to the main forum overview anymore!

FIXED
A point of note: if your are like me and don't like looking at people's flashing signatures, you can hide them is the Board Preferences section of the your User Control Panel

Re: Forum bugs/wierdness?
The font for the responses is REALLY small, for some reason, even on my old and not-giant rez monitor. It looks like "Small Fonts" font, or a very small Courier.
It's not a bug, but it's strange.

Re: Forum bugs/wierdness?
What worries me slightly is that "Small" size comes out in code as size = [i]85[/i]. Does that mean size = 1 is microscopic?
Re: Forum bugs/wierdness?
nope, my sig is still pretty much MIA.
it's there in my profile, it's just not displaying.
crisis averted: it's just not showing up on THIS board.

The font is rather small for me too. I'm at 1024X768. Previously everything was comfortable to read but now I have to ALT+ twice (in FireFox) to get text to what I'm used to, but that pushes stuff off the right side of the screen.
I'll keep exploring the new forum features but that's the first thing I noticed.
[b]Edit:[/b]
More weirdness. There currently is no signature or active tag formatting in my post here, but both are working fine on my new posts in other threads.

So it's not showing up period then, as there are no other boards.
And for some reason all I've got is a text entry box on the post reply page now...what the smeg just happened?
Smegging heck, now I'm being asked if I want to revise posts?
EDIT: And quotes are broken

Re: Forum bugs/wierdness?
In fact there are nine other boards. Signatures and all formatting (or at least BB code) appear to be disabled on Site News, Video Discussion, Bonus Videos and Iron Stomach Challenge boards. I thought it was intentional for this board, but maybe not for the others?

Re: Forum bugs/wierdness?
Seems like it would be somewhat problematic to have BBCode enabled everywhere else.

Re: Forum bugs/wierdness?
Also, my avatar is getting squished and shrunken to be within a certain width. It didn't used to do that; it would just gently compensate for the slightly wider size.
Is this a hint to tell me to change my avatar, or can this be brought back to the way it was?
