Phailhaüs - 28

For videos that aren't... y'know... "real". Whatever Thing, Phailhaüs, etc.

Gyah. Thank you, so much, for introducing me to another Internet Time-Waster (the meme database) because I really wanted to know what was up with the dancing (which I loved) and I'm also not on board with Alex's hatless hair, but as long as his woman likes it, it's all good, yes?

All of my nitpicks are going to be technical ones, I'm afraid. I'm not fond of the weird framing between Graham's scenes and Alex's scenes. The camera moved sideways a lot when it was on Alex, and it was like he was sitting further away from the camera because there was way more white space around him than there was around Graham. The lighting was also a bit inconsistent, too.

Other than that, I did like everything else.

I totally agree with all of your technical points, and I hope to address them next time.
Thanks!

I quite like the way Phailhaus and the Whatever Thing are less visually 'polished' and more informal than the LLR or ENN videos. They're like Terry Pratchett style asides :)

I am, strangely enough, very familiar with Canadian coinage. You'd be surprised at just how many Canadian dimes and pennies end up in Central New York convenience store cash registers.

Mainly dimes. Mostly dimes. Frackin' busloads of dimes. I think I've gotten three nickels.

Also, why are your pennies so pointy?

So how did you get to a random dance party?
And how did Alex have a gun in the beginning, but go to another reference of a gun later on... without the gun...???

Graham mentioned at PAX that they had recovered the lost Phailhouse that was on Kathleen's stolen laptop and re-edited it, so new Phail may be forthcoming.

Because that's how it's spelled correctly.

Canada was founded as the 'Dominion of Canada' in 1867, for various reasons (primarily being that we were a dominion of the British Empire, and it didn't sound overly pushy). However usage of the full title went downhill around the 1950's and later as we became more autonomous, which was cemented in the Canada Act of 1982, which changed our national holiday from 'Dominion Day' to 'Canada Day'. The official name of the country is now simply Canada. Though personally I wish we had kept the Dominion part, it sounds grander.

Wow! That's really interesting to me. Seriously, I like that story. I may go away and find out more about the birth and rise of Canada now.

Only 2 more weeks until the 4 month wait limit! (The same time between the September Phailhaus (26) and the January (27) Phailhaus)

Most people like to update daily, weekly, or even biweekly... We do it quadmonthly!(no, it's not a word... shut up)Hope to see it again soon!

The term you're looking for is Quarterly. And IIRC the Phailhaus that was on Kathleen's stolen laptop was recovered from another source and is just awaiting editing. That being said the LRR crew seems to be incredibly busy right now, so it's understandable that they might not have time for the extras for a little while.

Phailhaus Statistics: The series began in the first week of February, 2008. To date (first week of May, 2010), there have been 28 episodes.

[118 weeks] / [28 episodes] = [4.2143 weeks / episode]
[4.2143 weeks] x [7 days / week] = [29.5 days]
[29.5 days] / [30.4375 days / month] = [.9692 months]

So since, on average, there's been a Phailhaus approximately every month, it's a monthly series. Okay? Okay.
