Re: Crapshots
At PAX, Graham said Paul burned the midnight oil adding a Crapshot randomiser to the series DVD's menu. I forgot to ask, what did he use to create the functionality?
Also, girlfriend and I now randomly point at each other and say "KITTY," so thanks for that.

Re: Crapshots
I said *I* burned the midnight oil to do that. That's why I'm so proud of it, it's not really my thing, programming.
It was done within DVD Studio's bizarre proprietary scripting language. The tricky bit was playing a random chapter (from two different tracks, because they couldn't all be in 1 track), and returning to the main menu after each one. It wasn't fun, but I'm so glad it works.

Re: Crapshots
My mistake, nice job! It's a good conceptual fit for the disc.
I see what you mean about the DVD Studio scripting. First Google result has this quote:
"For most, scripting in DVD Studio Pro is a complete mystery. It's not that it's complex by any means; it's just that there's a dearth of accessible documentation and a lack of real-world examples to provide a reference point for getting started."

Re: Crapshots
I was showing the magic-related crapshots to my sister's boyfriend since he plays, and she's decided that she needs a Magikarp for her deck now. So I popped online and churned out this real quick. Now she wants to print it off. I wonder what this will result in...

Add the effect, "if summoned to counter an ornithopter, the opponent must concede.

Sorry I can't do that, it violates my three laws of robotics.

Oh, I like it...
Edit: Tweaked a bit, but here we are.
Also, I'm apparently not the only one at this...

Re: Crapshots
I think that it's worth mentioning that I had someone at FNM this weekend that did the exact same card-flipping thing with their hand that Alex did in... The Counter I think it was? It drove me freaking nuts.

Re: Crapshots
I've been maintaining a playlist of all of the crapshots episodes. It hasn't required any maintenance until now.

Oh, we have a thread for this?
Nice.
Anyway, so The Chauffeur is my favourite of season 2 so far.

Re: Crapshots
Did we miss a Crapshots update yesterday? I can't find it on Youtube... or is the Crapshots account being updated again?

Re: Crapshots
"The First Ride" had me dying. I really liked Beej's line; I was expecting "Why, this is Narnia" or something along those lines, but acting as if this happens all the time was a much better ending.
Re: Crapshots
I hope for Beej's sake it didn't require too many takes to get right.

Re: Crapshots
Hey, can Alex post a deck list for his mono-red deck? I, too, want to make it rain pain.

Re: Crapshots
OK, we need a meme exploitable image of Andy with that gun, surely. Ideally the frame where you can see his laser pointer guys in the background, but just Andy, isolated, on some background or another.
Re: Crapshots
I really expected The Standoff to head down a Dear Sister path. I think Graham even has the same gun.

Re: Crapshots
THE ACTUAL FUCK, ALEX.
There's something wrong with you.
(I didn't quite laugh, but it's a helluva sketch.)

I on the other hand laugh my ass off throughout. I've watched it 4 times and it's still funny, Alex is fantastic!
