Re: Crapshots
What I like about the Crapshots is, if you watch a load at once it's like the Fast Show. You might not find one funny, but there's so many and the funny is consistant, it doesn't matter.
Which was nice.

Re: Crapshots
I loved 'The Check' and the Punishment series is something I find really funny too.

Re: Crapshots
Given how smug Alex looked after his 'Great' gag in Punishment 3, he may have deserved that one....
Still, good stuff. Long may it run.

Re: Crapshots
Given that they are about the same running time, what would you say is more work: making fifty Crapshots or one episode of commdoreHUSTLE?
Re: Crapshots
Ooh there's a thread for these, neat-o. I'll just go ahead and vent a little about the serious trouble I've gotten into by showing these Crapshots to my friends. I ofcourse find these videos hilarious, I mean who wouldn't?
Heh, tiny brooms, heh ...
But alas, I have received numerous death threats after linking to these and the severity of the threats are in direct proportion to how bad the puns are. Ofcourse, the threats were all from the same person and he usually does this anyway and most of them are directed at my characters in the game where he's the DM, but my point is...
er.. well...
LOL. Yes, quite LOL.

With reguards of 'The Drink'.
Alex, Alex, Alex.....
You must know you need a MANLY attitude when making drinks.
I always used to end up dead when playing with drink while in a mellow manner.
You have the experiecne, MANLYNESS will kick deathlyness in the balls everytime.
HAAAAAAA!!!!!
(Still funny as hell though )

Re: Crapshots
Finally, after 10 days of development, ClickQuest lives! (http://bit.ly/9RgGEA)
It is easy to get started, enter a username and password. If the username doesn't exist, it becomes yours. If it does, it tells you the password is invalid. Simple!
Click on ANYWHERE on the screen to get a point. Leveling is based off the desertbus algorithm, previous*1.07. Chat is to the right, and other players are below (NOTE: Other players does not yet automatically update, will work on in the future)
Here's a few screenshots:
EDIT: Oh, a few notes: 1) each click pings the server, so have fun writing a clickbot. Who knows, it may DDOS the server... 2) Passwords are stored in clear-text. Don't use something you care about. 3) "herpa_derp" is already taken, by me. Alex will get a DM in twitter with the password if he wants it. 4) Testing was limited, so there are probably bugs. PM me or respond and I'll fix them ASAP. Enjoy!

Re: Crapshots
There is a second one? Where? The most I saw when I started was one person who made a basic page that just iterated on clicks, no saving of clicks nor chat functionality. Mine tracks clicks, allows for chat and real time comparison to other players. If I left anything out though, let me know.

Re: Crapshots
Re-uploaded at http://clickquest.x10.mx/. Hopefully lasts longer this time, traffic should be about 10x less for clicking and half for the chat, database queries are halved and sqlite databases were separated to reduce table locks.

Re: Crapshots
I'm kind of gobsmacked by how well clickquest has been put together. It just needs a few more elements and it'll be perfect. Actually, here - check out the updated mockup:
font is DOS Perfect, available on dafont: http://www.dafont.com/search.php?psize=m&q=dos+perfect

Re: Crapshots
After a talk with alex, i have decided a few things:
1) I need to get a life
2) Who does that anyway
3) This is a beta. It will break regularly as I push things to production that haven't really been tested. Oops.
4) The UI will get a complete overhaul soon to match the recent mockup. I already adjusted the font.
5) People complained about colors. These are the ones currently available.http://clickquest.x10.mx/colorwheel.php Whine if you want more. HINT: hex codes make it go faster.
6) Needs a leaderboard. Since I was lazy, I just made this instead.http://clickquest.x10.mx/stats.php
7) Mobile version, hopefully will auto-redirect soonishhttp://clickquest.x10.mx/mobile.php
Unless you use internet explorer, text is no longer highlighted when clicking.
9) Leveling algorithm was changed from the desertbus style (10 clicks for level 1, 1.07*previous additional clicks per level after that) to 100 clicks for level 1, and 1.09*previous.
10) More tracking is needed
11) Colors make a difference? Skills? Personally, I don't want to. Seems to detract from the game, but that is a later discussion.
12) Dedicated servers, capped at 10 players each? Hrrk.
13) I need to stop spamming this thread and make my own.
