It's been said already, but the Kramer reference was killer! Perfect timing!

He's a character from the TV show Seinfeld. It was really popular in it's time I'm surprised you haven't heard of it.

And Kramer is the character that Michael Richards plays. (Look him up on YouTube and you'll get the joke)

Oh neither do I. But if a show is good it's impossible not to hear about it.

I mean Firefly for instance, everyone loved it when it came out on network TV and I didn't watch it just because everyone was so "OMG BEST SHOW EVAR", but about a year after Serenity came out I finally watched em' all.
I'm kinda glad I watched them after. Watching them in order rocks.

Well, I guess not all shows share the same reputation on all continents ; )
But now I know what Graham referred to, thanks : )

YES!
I punched my fist in the air when my haiku got read :D

Just feel I should say it: That story was inspired by a freind's story to me. A five minute story.
Great episode, made me laugh a few times out loud, worth the wait!

edit: Just got the Kramer joke! Hahaha

Right there with you!
My whatever vid got used this week! :D
In case anyone was wondering, that's my dad in the clip (not me), who just happened to be standing at exactly the right spot in front of that wreath when I had my digital camera out at Thanksgiving and decided to record a quick vid instead of taking his pic. He was a bit puzzled as to why I asked him to say "whatever", though. I sent him the link of the vid when it appeared on LRR but have yet to hear back from him about it.
He's a good sport, and loves a good joke so I'm sure he'll love it -even if he doesn't quite get Morgan's & Graham's senses of humor. Not sure how he'll feel about being associated with a vid called "Panda Porn", though. Christmas should be fun...

This was a great episode all in all.
I LOVED the sperm whales bit -haven't laughed that hard in a long time -but forget about saving them what about saving the bowl of petunias???

Actully anotherearth

I believe the reference ot the sperm whale was a refernece to the original startrek movie Startrek IV: The Voyage Home, release in 1986, the date which Graham refers to in this Whatever episode.

Part of the plot for the startrek movie is that there is a mysterious alien power is threatening Earth by evaporating the oceans and destroying the atmosphere. In their frantic attempt to save mankind, Kirk and his crew must time travel back to 1986 San Francisco to recover two humpback whales, who are the only Earth beings who can respond to it.

Im telling you im not a trekkie!! lol .......

DAMNIT, ive apparently been beaten to the facts but post above... o well

Thanks for the info, Chris ...but I actually did know that one already. I can say that I *am* a bit of a trekkie (not that there's anything wrong with that), and saw ST4:TVH in the theatre as a kid when it came out in 1986... damn, now I feel old (& insane?). 8)
Well, I decided to make a quick reference to HHGTTG since Graham mentioned sperm whales rather than the humpback whales that were the ones featured in ST4:TVH -and of curse if one is to mention sperm whales and HHGTTG, then it logically follows that you must mention the bowl of petunias. That's the rule I think -and if it isn't, it darn well should be. :D

Im telling you im not a trekkie!! lol .......

C'mon, man -admitting it is the first step.
Let the healing begin!
But, you're explanation is a good one for those that didn't get it, so kudos!

Ech, SG1 has ruined Stargate for me almost utterly. And you forgot Farscape, and Bablyon 5, which were two of the awesomest science fiction series known to man.
"I swear it," said the other mother. "I swear it on my own mother's grave."

"Does she have a grave?" asked Coraline.

"Oh yes," said the other mother. "I put her in there myself. And when I found her trying to crawl out, I put her back."

Did you not notice the Seinfeld reference in that same post? :)

Dana wrote:Ech, SG1 has ruined Stargate for me almost utterly. And you forgot Farscape, and Bablyon 5, which were two of the awesomest science fiction series known to man.

Frel! How could anyone forget Farscape or B5? They're simply the best of the bunch! (just finished watching FS "Coup By Clam" in syndication here) Was never a big SG1 fan b/c I was busy with Farscape at the time, but do enjoy both SG's these days. Anyway, I'd rather not clutter this discussion with more on the subject of great scifi stuff. That would be neverending for sure.

What is it we were talking about in this thread?
Ah yes...

...leadership. ;)

Oh man, my brother got th hardcover Star trek Encyclopedia for $20 at a con a few years back. We also have the Trek Atlas and the First Contact manual/concept sketch book. :D

Umm... SG-1... I used to like it, but once Jack left, it just kinda sucked.
Atlantis is where it's at!
