Apparently this is the week of Alex doing all of our work for us.

Graham was going to call it "Alex Week".

Sort of like the Discovery Network's "Shark Week", but with some guy from Toronto.

Good video, on a manliness scale of one to ten, i give it an 8

Burritos - 6
Steak - 8
Roast - over 9000!!!!!

That.
Was.

GREAT!

My favorite man cooking yet, actually. Morgan, you have competition!
It was just so funny, the way you did everything. Propane = manly...but doesn't work, so we have to use tinder. Especially because Alex doesn't sound too manly when talking normally (No offense Alex), so when he's got a "manly" voice, it's great.

Good f-ckin job!

As usual, that steak looks delicious.

Totally true. The salt steak is delicious, but that roast wins out from sheer presentation. If a meal is a genuine threat to your mouth, it's indesputably manly.

Oh I know, my speaking voice is totally sissy, which is why doing this video was so much fun.

Strangely enough, with the exception of the Worcestershire line, I had an easier time delivering in a manly voice than normal. Hmm.

When I pitched this idea to Graham, we both were hoping this would ignite the most delicious cold war in history.

Morgan, meatball's in your court.

First time poster! woot! :D ... I need an avatar and signature. Hmm.

I've wanted to reply to several of the Whatever Things despite the topics being so old, but it was this one that made me register. This was very funny all around... Morgan definitely has competition. Plus I tend to be a big fan of the Alex videos anyway. :D (including "Hyut!")

Steak is manly. It's even manlier when you completely oversaturate it with mustard, spices, and worchers... worchee... worsrrhc... ... sauce!

... YAAAAARRR!

My favorite little touch has gotta be that Army-grade ammo box holding the steaks in it. Excellent. Liked the various knives and machete to go along with it, too, mwahaha.

I really wish I was there to try it. It looks really damn good. And I'm looking forward to half a cow.

Which half of the cow?

The steak definitely looked delicious... I once saw someone do something really similar with a chicken and some clay. Same basic idea, I think, but not as manly.

It's a great general principle, though. Pretty much any time you wrap your meat up, let it stew in its own juices for a while (in an appropriately spicy setting, of course), and then release it right before really turning up the heat... well, only good things can result.

You kinda grossed me out when you dunked it... but won me back later... How did it taste?

Think it'd work with a nice Honey Mustard? I'm not a dijon fan

It tastes fantastic. Seriously.

If you nail the recipe, you get a delicious seasoned crust surrounding a juicy centre (like we did this time).

I only made two minor screwups this time:

1.) I used colored newspaper. Wall Street Journal is reccomended.
2.) I did not use Lawry's Lemon Pepper because I can't find it in Toronto.

Otherwise perfect! The larger the piece of meat, the better this recipe works.

That's a very good question... I'll ask Vaughn.

Morgan you lazy wanker, you better have something good up your sleeve for Man Cooking 4. The Man Cookings are some of my favorite Whatever Things even though the involve cooking large amounts of meat and I am a vegetarian.

My favorite parts were the failures at being manly (propane, "sauce", etc.). I particularly liked the sauce bit because after failing, he just says the brand name instead. Haha.

Also, the knives were great, especially about using it to cut cellophane ;)

Why thank you!

Big round of applause for Vaughn, 3MM4 and her friend whose name I can't spell. And of course my girlfriend Rebecca, who has only been seen once before in LRR history.

I have no problem watching other people cook and eat dead mammal even though I do neither. Nor do I consume bird, reptiles or amphibian. Fish and invertebrates I have no problem with.

I must admit, the best steaks I have had in recent history have been from Texas Roadhouse. I mean a place where you pretty much have to handpick any cut of steak above 12 oz you want and can make it really well has to be good. Every time I go there, they make great steak.

Then again, if anyone can do hibachi, I would marry them in a second

That's a fuckton of veggies and meat on a slab of steel on FIRE. Can it get any manlier?

Hey that was pretty cool and I personally think that you made it even better by cooking on an island and BBQing (something us Aussies LOVE!!) yummy.... I will have to put it to our resident BBQers next time!

Thanks

Alex Steacy. I admire the amount of balls you have portrayed by stealing my upcoming thunder with an alien abortion.

You may be a damned manly cook, but this saturday, -all hell will break loose.-

THAT. WAS. AAAAAAAWESOME.

...and manly. Yeah. That too :)

Seriously though, Alex- that steak was a work of freaking art when you were done with it. This makes me want to re-think my cross country trip to Victoria and just come up to Toronto and visit you instead! xD

Can't say that this is my favorite Man Cooking (the first one holds a special place in my heart) but damn, does it ever come close! Kickass work, Alex and all others that participated 8)

Damn Paul you stole my thunder in making fun of you guys for letting Alex do everything.

Also the cops were coming around because they had reports of Awesome food in the vacinity... ANd I definitely love how you left the women laughing at you in there, you know you're manly when you're impressing women and doing work you would have done anyways
