Re: Who's buying...
I pre-ordered it from Steam and is pre-loaded on my PC and is ready to be played. I can't wait to get home tonight
Re: Who's buying...
my interest is cautiously piqued, but at the same time Mass effect was so hard to get through, and I never did manage to slog my way through kotor.

Mass Effect is the only Bioware game I've beaten.
Re: Who's buying...
EA has its hands in it. I'm staying the hell away.

Re: Who's buying...
Well, the game activated and started decrypting today at about 2pm EST...and I haven't been able to play it because of issues getting the DLC cause the Bioware Social Networking sites has been on the fritz and refused to authenticate my codes.
And I've also had problems registering my game, because the site doesn't like any of my product codes.
Either way, I'm downloading the stuff now and itching to play.

EA also does the burnout games, which are pure awesome, so I fail to see the issue here.

I've been EA free for over two years now. Been much happier because of it.
If you ever have a problem with one of their games that you know (and can prove)is something they need to fix on their end, try talking to their customer support. I dare you.

Re: Who's buying...
They handled Rockband warranty replacement fairly well for the mopst part.
I've been on both sides of the good/bad customer service experience - but they do have a few excellent game properties.

Re: Who's buying...
I'm with Matt on this one, EA has shaped up quite nicely recently, both in the quality of their games and their increase in smart business decisions...especially since that ea_spouse debacle. In my mind that was the turning point for them.
Now if only something like that would get Activision to wake up

Re: Who's buying...
EA did Dead Space, which redeemed them immensely in my view.
Re: Who's buying...
EA lost my respect when they brought Rock Band 1 out a year after America and then charged full price ($250) for it.
Let's not even get started on the fact that RB2 isn't here yet...
/Old chestnut.
Edit: I'll give them brownie points for everything else they've handled. They've moved away from being the imperialistic demons they once were.
And even if they are somewhat evil still(Really, nothing to indicate this 'side from RB1\2 in Aus), Activision's shadow is FAR too great for them to even hold a candle to Bobby Kotick.

I'll skip that one.

Re: Who's buying...
if you won't play a game just because "EA has their hands in it", you're fucking retarded. this game is amazing. the setting and story are very well done.
a good game is a good game in my books... who gives a flying fuck with who's involved in it?

Re: Who's buying...
EA has my support, games like mass effect and Dragon Age are simply amazing.
Tonberry's poked the dutch again.
Re: Who's buying...
I got pretty close to buying it, but then realized I missed out on Bioware's most recent game, Mass Effect, and instead picked that up for $20 on Steam. Definitely worth it, I've had a blast playing it.
I'll probably pick up Dragon Age if it ever goes on a Steam weekend sale. From what I've heard it's as good as was promised.

Re: Who's buying...
I bought the digital deluxe version on Steam. The hoops you have to go through to get the pre-order content is ridiculous. I finally went on the Bioware forums and searched for a guide and managed to get my stuff. It was frustrating to say the least.

Re: Who's buying...
Yeah, I had the same issues...I put all the codes in everywhere I could and they were all rejected, then I gave up and went to bed, the next day when I booted up the game it started downloading all the DLC.

Re: Who's buying...
So, I went and bought it for PC, y'know, from a store. Never pre-ordered it, didn't get the uber-special edition, and I'm loving it. The game does not play like Mass Effect or KotOR, more like Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights. My first impressions are that it's on par with Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, and better than Neverwinter Nights. It's just as immersive as Mass Effect, but way more playable. Plus, there's some similarities to WoW, for those that want a game like that (I could care less in that regard, but to each their own).
Oh, and don't get it for console. PC is the way to go. There's way too much fine tune control that's lost by limiting yourself to a controller. Plus, as I understand it, they've disabled friendly fire for area-effect spells on the consoles, which kinda cheapens the game, imo.

Yeah... I said it was gonna be a winter lull game.. but.. it should be in my mail box today. So I'll probably be playing it a lot until AC2. I don't think I'll be able to get through it before then, but I'm hoping I can.
