crazy game glitches

well i am playing a game of call of duty MW2. ive been playing for about 4 games now on hardcore deathmatch. every game everyone has unlimited weapons, you don't have to reload. its the craziest thing ive ever seen. people are running around with grenade launchers shooting automatic and RPG's. this got me thinking, what are your guys' favorite glitches in games.

my favorite glitch is probably halo 2's original rocket lunge. it allowed you to go soo many places in that game.

I miss the Soul Trap glitch from Morrowind. If you made a summon spell that also had Soul Trap in it, it became a permanent summon. I used to run around with about 20 Golden Saints, and you could kill them and take their weapons.

i really liked that weird glitch in ff7 that allowed me to have 99 of everything through the use of cloning. actually cloning in those pokemon gameboy games was useful too.

I'm told that the unlimited ammo thing in Modern Warfare 2 is actually a hack, not a glitch.

Now, what is a glitch is how the game's been fucking up on determining what levels go with what number of players. You don't know the definition of insane until you play Rust, one of the smallest levels of the game meant for maybe 8 players, with 18 fucking people at once, especially if you're playing Free For All.

And if everyone has unlimited fucking ammo, too.

MW2 yesterday was really weird. My friend and I were playing, and were getting challenges we hadn't done. For an example. With the intervention, I'd fired 4 shots, hitting with each of them. THen I got the Perfectionist challenge, which require you to hit with all shots in a magazine. But I still had one left. My mate got that too, and also got the one for staying alive an entire game... But the game wasn't over. There were other things, but I forget them.

The current weirdness with MW2 is from an exploit with creating Private Matches that can then carry over into normal online play. For example, I ended up in a 16-player Free-for-All match that had infinite ammo with no need to reload. So, people were firing their grenade launchers, shotguns, and RPGs like crazy. It was even more insane when someone got an AC-130 and was firing its Howitzer on full automatic! Madness I tell you!

It was neat, and all, but I felt dirty after 20 minutes of playing that way (since its kinda like cheating).

i remember getting the Lamb 2 Slaughter achievement on Left 4 Dead 1 while playing single player. for those not in the know, you have to be playing online as Infected to get it.

also back in Fallout 1, it was possible to soak up near deadly levels of radiation (around 800 - 900 rads, 1000 rads is death time), wander around the world map after a while, have the radiation reduce your stats to crap, wander around a bit more, and your stats would shoot up to near perfect. it was eventually fixed though.

oh, oh, oh! also while playing Skate 2, i was trying to get the Hall of Meat challenge for 15000 rotation points... upon crashing into the ground, my skater's model started spazzing out, spinning uncontrollably at impossible speeds. this also granted me my 15000 rotation points. i also have video of it (though it was artistically edited for skate.reel)

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth for the PC. If you crouch down next to a wall & lean in that direction you can often clip through the wall. This is handy for peeking into the next area to espy enemies without being seen.

My favorite glitch has to be when BioShock crashes and deletes my saved game file all 3 times I've gotten to around the 6 hour mark.

When spectating someone who is getting an achievement in TF2, I got that achievement as well.

Also, Ghostbusters for the PS2 is so glitchy that by the time you get to the last level the game becomes unplayable.

I remember playing Fallout 3 and going towards these SatCom dishes. There was a raider on a catwalk taking potshots at me. I figured I'll try out my new Gauss Rifle on him. I fire a shot and all of a sudden his corpse goes fuckin' apeshit! He spasms, contorts, and stretches all while FLYING in random directions through the dawn sky! Funniest fuckin' thing I've ever seen in any game ever.

i believe flying Deathclaws were also a common sight.


also, experienced an amusing glitch playing Wet on my Golden Bullets playthrough last night. in Chapter 2 (aka Quick Time Event Hell Part 1), i got shot to death by an enemy, and yet the next 3 Quick Time Event prompts came up as Rubi was bouncing along the highway in the death cutscene, slowing down time as the prompts came up.
