Ever Feel Like You're The Only Fan Of A Game?
So I was just looking at another site's forum when I noticed someone using a character from one on my favorite games as an avatar. I immediately feel connected to them because we like the same game, and it's odd because I don't notice too many people talk about or mention it, which got me thinking, do you ever feel like the only fan? If so name the game and possible where you saw another fan reference it.
The avatar was Raven from Tales of Vesperia, my favorite game of all.
Another avatar was Noel Vermilion from BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, another one of my preferred games. Two more game I like are NFS ProStreet and Shift, best installments in the franchise in my opinion.

The one game I love that I don't think anyone has played was Silent Bomber.

Would Final Fantasy VIII count?
To be honest, for most of my games, I know at least a couple of people who've played/like the games I've got. I guess the only really obscure games that I've got that I've not really come across anyone else who has played them are Artox, an RTS for the PC, and Sanity: Aiken's Artifact, a 3rd person action game with basic RPG elements, also for the PC.

See I didn't mind FF8. I didn't love it but nor did I hate it. I don't really get the fervor either way to be honest.
Nothing to see here.

Re: Ever Feel Like You're The Only Fan Of A Game?
Before LRR, I thought me and one of my RL friends were the only ones who loved FFIX the most.
However Banjo Kazooie/Tooie fans are still few and far between.
Also, a forum I used to frequent HATED Chrono Cross. Absolutely hated it. That forum was in fact Gaia Onine, so there is a good chance they soulcn't follow the story and didn't get to play their fave characters again.
It might help that I played CC before CT. I still haven't beat CT. Though I watched my brother play it and know most of the story. That might be why I have no motivation to beat it.

No, lots of people like FFVIII, they're just wrong.

I am not angry at you.

Ouch, and you used to be one of my favourite LRRers...
It was the first Final Fantasy I ever played and I think the second I completed. That game has sentimental value!

The Longest Journey series. It has it's fans, but is not as well known as it should be.
~I'm probably not serious~
Oh and you can just call me Dave.
No need for the whole screen name.

Love that game, can't wait for the Chapters!

I absolutely love Turrican, but I only found one other fan here in the states out of 6 different forums. It's sad.
One of the proud, the willing, and the seemingly growing number of... G-Saviour fanboys.

If Matt was The Head of Square, he would be on FFVIII like George Lucas on the Star Wars Christmas Special.Myrph wrote:Matt wrote:Myrph wrote:Would Final Fantasy VIII count?

Re: Ever Feel Like You're The Only Fan Of A Game?
I've got one: The Koei Musou series, also known as the Dynasty Warriors series.
A lot of people I know have played it, but no one really seemed to like it. Too repititious, too inane, same game released five times - and that's just the base series, let's not forget the three Samurais, the three Orochis, the two Gundams, and the countless spin-offs.
However, I just can't get enough of them. I mean, you control one guy versus an armada - literally, sometimes it's only you against hundreds - and you have the near-limitless power to mow them all down. Good stuff.

Two games I loved that were widely unpopular: Opoona on the Wii, and Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts.
Just call me Dylan. It's easier to pronounce.

You just took the words right out of my mouth, buddy. Also along those lines is American McGee's Alice, which is another older game that I consider a classic.
Oh, and for some reason whenever I mention that I liked Mirror's Edge while amongst my gamer savvy friends I get weird looks.

That game is amazing, absolutely love it, although I'm kinda stuck on the part with the water and haven't played it in ages!
Probably ought to dig that out again...

It sounds silly, but with all the rampant bashing that goes on online at the Escapist forums and elsewhere, I can't help but think I'm the only one (of 10 million or so) who actually enjoys Modern Warfare 2.

Yeah your probably right...
As for me id say Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain, I seriously don't think anyone got to play it. It was so much fun, and it was CO-OP!

YOU SIR!
I want to take you to a gay bar.
I honestly know only of one person, apart from you, who has ever even heard of this series. More people know about Dwarf Fortress than Dynasty Warriors!
To me, the one game I feel like a lonely fan for is ICO. Not a single person I know knows about this game, and the ones I've tried explaining it to don't even know of Shadow of the Colossus.

I was a fan of Spider-Man: Web Of Shadows and I think I was the only one. Good web swinging action after the tragedy that was Spider-Man 3.
