Playing oblivion again. No armor, no weapons. I only shoot fireballs and challenge unsuspecting civilians to fisticuffs. Have at you.

Good God, man...they'll murder you!
But I would love to see that work, good luck!
(and I mean that as actual encouragement)
I'd like some level by level updates, if you wouldn't mind indulging me.

Emergent gameplay is awesome.
Document this journey, if you would.

I've overloaded my Oblivion with mods. More weather effects, nicer graphics, I can actually play as Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7 complete with Masamune, AMAZING new music that actually fits with the game and hundreds of new creatures and races.
Problem is, I was doing some experimenting with an easier, better way to load the mods and ended up ballsing everything up. Another few hours down the drain.

Thats to bad, mods really made Oblivion great. But the engine as a whole is slightly less stable then anti-matter. Oh Bethesda...

I've named him.
Dennis the Orc enjoyed a pleasant stroll through the imperial sewers this morning, leaving dead rats and an air of nonchalance in his wake. I'll post details later.

And so begins the epic journey made somehow more epic.

Re: OBLIVION for the 30'th time.. think i'll add a twist.
I've just plotted out the last couple of 'significant' levels for my current character; training the right skills to get the last few attributes to 100.
Of course, this is a lot less of a hassle than in TES III: Morrowind; I remember spending about seventy hours to get my alter ego up into the 30's for level, and was close to maxing my stats, but got STUCK in the level-up screen because I only had two stats that could take any improvement, and the game wanted me to assign the three talents I got from levelling, and wouldn't let me leave the screen until I did...

I've played Oblivion way too many times to be sane, but it's just too good, damn it!

Really you only ever have to go into one or two of them.

Or if you really want to do more than that, just run as fast as you can up to the top and grab the orb without killing anything. Sure, you've got a bunch of monsters following you, but as soon as you get that orb, you're outta there. I started doing that during my original playthrough after a while, and it must have gotten me through 15 or 20 of the damn things. And something like Blood of the North (I forget which birthsign gives it, but it's a WAY overpowered lesser attribute. Something like restore 6 hp for 30 seconds for 50 magicka unlimited times a day) doesn't hurt, either.

I think you DO need to kill one in the first Oblivion gate to get a key to get to the stone or something.

Yep; that's the ONLY "requires a key" door you'll find in Mehrunes Dagon's realm within Oblivion - even the Great Gate's (Battle of Bruma) Sigillum Sanguis has a locked door that can be picked.
