I have to agree, the monster spawning isn't happening.

Although it makes dungeon finding much easier.

WAYF wrote:Memo, I'm almost certain that there is something wrong with spawning on the server, i.e. that with the exception of actual mob spawners like the ones you find in abandoned mineshafts, it just isn't happening the way it should. I haven't seen a naturally spawned mob that wasn't a spider since I started playing again at the end of my uni semester.
(I took the liberty of Googling the problem, and I received dubiously reliable information that this problem could be solved by changing the server mode to Peaceful, then back to Survival again. Or something like that.)

Spawning is working correctly in the Nether, however. I saw another skeleton (not a wither skeleton, just a normal skeleton), and the pigmen and ghasts respawn as normal. At least, as of two weeks ago, or whenever I last logged on.

I'll get to the bottom of this when I have some time. As I'm off of work this week, I hope I have some time between getting stuff that I haven't been able to get done worked on due to work.

Finally a bit more progress on the WORST. The house now has half a roof...

@Memo, I see you dug a new rail tunnel, I hope I'll get around to actually building a railstation soon. It'll probably be right underneath the current one, but dug down a lot further to avoid the sand, I'll put in a shuttle line to the surface myself. How do you want/like the platforms to be laid out?

Hmm, if that wasn't you then I might have to get annoyed. There is a 3 wide by 2 high tunnel coming out directly to the center of the dome for the tempel from either havocs mansion or mountain home. Theres a station there with tracks ready to go for WORST.

Oh, in the Temple? Yeah. I put that there a good long while ago and forgot about it. I'll have to get that fixed up.

Plenty of small changes, but the biggest one is that the Zombie farm is now and XP Grinder. It's right next to the Market, so you don't have to go as far as you used to. It's not as efficient or as fast as Kool's, but it's closer. I'll put a direct path to it after I get the second floor of the Market figured out.

Also, yeah, I'll get a rail map up soon.

I don't know... The only thing I know that auto-jails is my Admin Base, so did you swim or boat over it or near it? I saw it in the logs and was coming on to ask. If you get on while I'm online, it just takes a single command or button press to get you out.

I am going to take the advice I was given some time ago and put in a second area that's wider and puts a warning in your chat that you're getting too close.
Edit: Now in place. I just need a guinea pig to test it.

And I can dispense with it entirely if and when we get bukkit up and running, as I don't mind anyone looking at the base, but I don't want anyone messing with the redstone that powers the server. With uneditable zones using bukkit, I won't need to teleport anyone.

Also, if anyone needs me for server stuff, I'm just a text message away: US number 443-231-4504

If necessary, my phone has a command-line app that I can pull up the server on.

So the James plays Minecraft on TwitchTV thing, have the server details for that been announced somewhere, or is it going to be THE server?

That would be awesome if they played on this server. Though a whitelist would probably have to be put in place temporarily. You would have a ton of people joining, and probably some of them trying to follow them everywhere.

Why, we could just play in parallel and watch the live feed. As long as we got some kind of warning before a visit though, I'd need to tidy Templemir up a bit first...

I joined the server, had a brief look around, got a touch close to the mods only basement thing, tried to turn around, and was jailed :(

Any chance of being unjailed and possibly even whitelisted?

Name is the same as here. :)

In my experience, a livestream brings a lot of the viewers to the server, and many of them try to find and follow the streamer around

Hi all! Fairly (read: incredibly) late to the party but fairly interested in joining the server if it's possible. Is there some sort of initiation ceremony I must undergo?

mehall: Sure. Just catch me online or even just join. I have the server in a command line prompt that I glance at occasionally at work.

CapnHat87: No real "initiation" other than me showing you the public facilities of Spawn City, and, if you want some land to build on, giving you a plot of land that doesn't interfere with anyone else.

FourEyedTroll: Yeah, I saw that. I don't know who or what broke it while I was on my business trip, but I rebooted it yesterday. I'm going to dig into the logs to find out what went wrong.
Also, regarding the James thing, he said that when he plays multi-player, he'll be typically on a server that he created for LRR crew use, rather than this server. However, he has said that he will sometimes visit here. I hope he plans to give me a heads-up when he visits here. Also, I'll have to resurrect the whitelist file, as I completely deleted it when I set up the new authorization system.

Everyone: If there's a major problem like FET reported, please let me know a bit quicker than a post on this thread. A forum PM, an email, or a text message would be great. I can easily reboot the server from my phone if something like that happens, so you don't have to wait several days for a fix if I'm away from home, like I was.

No whitelist on the server, but authorization is needed for block breaking.

Also, server became unstable, so I took it down before it crashed. I'll repair it and put it back up soon.
