You need to connect to that address (irc.lrrcraft.com) with an IRC client, not a web browser, and join the channel #LRRcraft ("/join #LRRcraft").

Regarding Mod hours, that's fine. If you can't do a time you thought, just take yourself off the schedule for that time. Since I have nearly given up on filling the schedule for now, I just want to see that, if someone has taken a shift that they show up.

Regarding NickServ, I've been trying to figure out how to install it, with zero success so far.

LRRcraftBot notifies on new players, jailing, and !mods.

LRRcraftBot spits out the entire message when !mods is typed, so if someone types "!Mods come quick! Spawn City is on fire!" you'll get that whole message along with who typed it.

Other features of LRRcraftBot would need to be discussed with me and MrPhlip.

I'm going to try to get IRC a little more fleshed out if I can, but it works, and that's the main thing.

Sweet, sounds good. I'll look into nickserv when I have a second to see if I remember how to install it.

Just having the irc and what it does now will be most excellent. I'll try to just be there when I'm on my computer. I use a bouncer so it keeps me logged in, but my status will show away if I'm not actually there.

All the mods: sign yourself up to the list for at least a bit of time. You can spare some time to be signed into irc and have it play a sound and notify you when you see !mods. This is where you're needed. This is what can keep is running without too much headache to any one person. I say if you can't do this, then you probably ought not to be a mod. Seriously though, anyone can do this. You don't have to actively watch the channel.

If anyone needs help with irc, setting up notifications, or anything like that, let me know and i shall provide whatever assistance that I am able.

Please note: those are all my words, nobody else's. I can be crazy sometimes, but I don't think I am this time. Dooooo eeeeet!!!

Server's up with a white-list to Mods currently, until I can figure out what the problem with the command blocks is. Once I get everyone teamed up or something, I'll re-open it.

Just a few questions/ideas about teams.
Are you going to assign us to teams before reopening the server?
Is a team defined as belonging to a specific mod?
(ex. is it called Vola's team as opposed to the green team)
can we request to be on a specific team?
Can we request a team change? (at least for an amount of time after it reopens)
does each team have a different color?

Answering in order:
Admiralmatt wrote:Are you going to assign us to teams before reopening the server?
Yes, unless I can get the command block issue working first. If that, then it'll open up when I get that fixed.
Admiralmatt wrote:Is a team defined as belonging to a specific mod?

Yes.
Admiralmatt wrote:Can we request to be on a specific team?
Yes.
Admiralmatt wrote:Can we request a team change? (at least for an amount of time after it reopens)
Yes, and I was planning on making this open for as long as the teams don't get ridiculously lop-sided. (Though a Mod who has more time for Mod duties might get more people.)
Admiralmatt wrote:Does each team have a different color?
Yes, because that's a factor of the internal working of Minecraft.

Teams should have next to zero effect on gameplay and functionality above what you're used to, unless you specifically want them to be.

Well, having the different teams opens up many different possibilities.
We could have team based competitions.
We could make a team home base with (by honor system) team storage.
There are many different things we could do in the future.

If we do make team bases, we could have capture the wool competitions

The trouble with capture the wool is that 90% of the time, no one from a given team will be online.

I think for now we should just focus on getting the server running again. All the other possibilities for team based events can be worked out at a later date.

I think I can work on it tonight during Cam's stream, and maybe have it up by the end of StreamBros.

And while we wait, a blast from the past:

Well you could always just say that a team needs to be online to be in the game. Also, it could just be a casual background thing.

ex. If you're online and bored, go capture some wool and bring it back to your team area, leaving a sign saying that you took it.

Nothing really competitive, just a reason to go explore the map, which I think is good.

Just have an easily visible shrine to display the wool that you have, and make it something that can be reached without building. Traps/parkour to get to it should be fine, though.

Again, just something to consider, I don't know, I like community games :P

Sort of the way my Labyrinth is being built. I have an item down in there, and when it's complete, the only way out will be to successfully navigate the labyrinth. The item being proof that you did it.

Idea for later. Each team has a "Shrine" that holds a pool of their own wool, plus a capture pool for each player in the team (pools being visible, but inaccessible from the outside). Teams can build an obstacle course around the shrine, but a mod must verify that it is possible (and reasonable) to run the course without breaking or placing blocks. If you successfully run an enemy shrine, you take one wool back to your own capture pool for showing off. Every so often, we close the shrines for improvements and redesigns, and reset the wool pools.

Yeah, sorry. Tried to get it up last night, but I fell asleep on my keyboard in the middle of Cam's stream.

Apparently, I made some posts in StreamBros' chat, too? However, I don't remember any of it.

Uh... probably... Why didn't I think of that? Probably just too exhausted from everything lately...

Unless other command blocks corrupt the server, and then we'll come to that when we get to it.
