That was AxelPheonix. He built it so people could easier get to him by horse.

What happened to him? I was in the area on Monday and he seemed ok when I left.

Also, the area around -830, -250 is where I've set up so far. I may soon take over the nearby lake (-870, -210) if that is ok.

Though, is a full server restart in 1.8 a likely possibility?

Unless there is an absolute need too, I would rather not... =(

And you're welcome on the bridge! Just wanted to make the area a little easier to explore.

I wouldn't mind a reset at 1.8- But that's mainly so I don't have to go really far away to try and get the newer materials.

Well, this is why I wanted to limit where people built, and also reset unused chunks.

Which is fair- I'm not pushing any direction- I'm just thankful for a generally happy server :)

Hey Kool. If you see this, I'd really like your input on if you have any preferences on a road approaching to your Fortress of soLRRtude from the South or South-West.

How many new materials are there? All I can think of are the 2 new stone types and the underwater temple stuff. I wouldn't think a whole new server is worth it just for those.

Well, most of the world is pre-1.7, so you currently have to go pretty far to get stuff from the new biomes.

Nether rails take you to the edge quickly enough. I really don't think it's worth losing all the fantastic things people have made just to make them more accessible.

As I said, I'll be resetting unused chunks eventually, so even ones closer to Spawn getting reset will become 1.7/1.8 chunks.

This will most likely happen when my parents move out and I get my PC back to myself.

Okay, me and Tuck were exploring the world using some fancy shaders, and axel wanted me to link it here, so here it all is:

Optifine: (You'll need this for GLSL)
https://optifine.net/downloads

GLSL Shaders Mod:
http://www.9minecraft.net/glsl-shaders-mod/

Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders:
http://www.9minecraft.net/sonic-ethers- ... aders-mod/

Once you install Optifine, install GLSL.

Once that's installed, download SEUS, and put it in a shaderpacks folder in your .minecraft folder.

Boot up the GLSL profile, and you can activate SEUS like a Resource pack, except as a shader pack.

Everything is awesome with this pack.

There's more than that.

True, but most of the new stuff won't naturally generate in new chunks. Things like the slime blocks are made from existing materials.

For shaders, I personally use a setting called Chocapix, I think that's it, it doesn't change too much, but the shadows and water reflections make it all look so pretty, while still feeling like Minecraft

I just looked into chocapics. Damn thats pretty. I doubt my hamster powered calculator has enough power to run that though. Does it work in conjunction with optifine?

I guess it's possible that the performance increases in 1.8 will also make it easier to run the shader mods too (once they get updated, of course)

Hosk, there is a swamp by my tower. Slimes spawn a lot over there.

Actually inside my house on on the 2nd floor/ entrance floor there is a chest labled mob drops, I believe that, has a bunch of slime balls. Feel free to help yourself to them.

So, I just wanna verify something with Memo. I asked about this once, and you said it sounded okay, but it's been a while, so I just want to verify before I get in trouble about it.

Found a zombie spawnwer and build an XP farm around it a while back, and started building a railway for it, intending to connect it to the local rail station once a line gets to me. Wanted to confirm that A) That's still okay, and 2) I've been building it in an style acceptable for the railway. The XP farm is at roughly <X=251 Y=28 Z=1911>, current construction terminates at roughly <X=230 Y=51 Z=1881>, and the location I proposed for the station (which I'm still happy to build myself if allowed) is <X=239 Y=63 Z=1860>.

If not, I'll tear it down myself and build something self-contained for the spawner.
