Uh... How does one standardize a piece of wood that only accepts letters, punctuation and a few symbols?

I'm not talking about standardizing the signs themselves, but creating some sort of billboard type thing that has the road signs pointing people to builds, rather than a collection of signs strewn about.

EDIT: I'm talking about creating something like this.

Whoever designed the Nether on the new server... have you ever heard of a ceiling?

Personally I like the uneven signage where everyone adds whatever they need. It reminds me of the mountain paths on El Bolsón, so I guess that's a very onesided reason :)

So this is mostly for MasterCheese, but the BetterShops plugin broke again. All the NPC shops around the underground mall reverted to entities (immortal if friendly), and any attempt to create a new shop only fails with "Better Shops > Cancelled Shop" written to the chat.

..Maybe it's time to try a different plugin?

[dynmap]

Example text.

That would get you a sign icon. So you can replace the word sign with Skull, or Temple etc. To find more icons use "/dmarker icons" in chat.

Note, that I can't remember if it's dynmap or dynamap. So if one doesn't work, it's likely to be the other.

If it works, the first two lines of the sign should be blank.
And, if you want to center the text on the sign instead of having it lop-sided, you can do:

[Dynmap]
Text
More Text
icon:sign

Somehow, I am screwing this up. I ca't get my signs to use the icon I try to set for them, so it just appears on the map as a regular sign. The only reason the sign on my house worked is that someone else put it up for me. I would really like to put one up for my mine, but a few tries have proven futile so far.

I just took a step back and looked at my progress on LRRcraft... Started off with a ballpark of 200,000 chunks. Currently pared to to about 67,000 chunks. I think I'm doing well. :)

Maybe it's an eldritch monstrosity that sneakily eats NPC shops?

Hey!

So here's an update that I feel is necessary regarding the rail line north.

Myself and my brother, helped by a handful of wonderful others, (known as Trains Against the Devil) have been building the line north of spawn, and are currently building a really long bridge. We've almost reached the end of it, but I have kind of disappeared off of the server for the past week. This is because I have reluctantly realised that I don't really have the time for it until roughly the end of May, when I hand in my final papers for my undergraduate degree, including my dissertation.

Basically, I'd love for others to build a station where the bridge currently ends (over a small island) and complete the bridge to that point if anybody is really interested, or it can be left as a line to nowhere for a month. My brother (66Darkness) might be on to work on it every once in a while, as might I (but kick me off if I spend too long on the server).

So please don't think it is an abandoned project, and I should have plenty of time in June and beyond to continue this project.
I'm also QuintonDreaming. Stupid username availability prevents me from always being an Icelandic volcano.

Have a bridge (and maybe a rail line) across the ocean there so one doesn't have to go all the way west and cross at the mesa/ Fort Richard Butt.

Hello Minecrafters, I'm going to be super busy this week because of school (thesis week, woo!) so I'm not going to be very active at all on the server. But contact me through pm or the desert bus IRC if there's any issues that needs fixing.

Have a good week!

I've been saving up to buy a Nether star, but unfortunately the NPC shop problem has affected the shop that sells them. Is it possible to replace the shopkeepers of the affected shops with chests?

Okay, now that I visually see what you're talking about, sure I can help build that bridge after I finish with the tunnel path. Would we want it to connect with the path on your side of the mountain or my side?

Probably branch off from the path to your area.

Might be prudent first though to make sure whoever is building on that island is OK with it.

Just a brief update on LRRcraft:
Big Overview Map - Click to Expand
Image

Not fully rendered, because that would take too long for our purposes.
However, you can see that the SouthEast is done, the SouthWest is nearing completion, and I've taken huge chunks off the direct South and NorthWest. (For scale, Spawn City is about the size of your cursor, just left of center.)
As you can see, I'm very detail-oriented.
