Soo think its about time to open the end?
Also could you add stacks of neather brick to the market?

Xaphod: I've been thinking we could, if we can find a good scheduled time to include Osprey, and hopefully to include James. I want to find a time where at least 6 people can join, and I think we have a large enough crowd to do so.

Regarding Nether items, I'll look into it. I wanted to add a second floor to the Market anyway.

Whoever built this terrible track in the Nether (I suspect Xaphod)... Just know it's getting destroyed because it was not authorized.

Oh come on its not that bad it just a switch over but if you don't like it i'll remove the parts myself.
Also whats with all this authorization and bureaucracy i was hopeing we would get away from all that when we left the old sever.

Just an FYI the server is down

1. You guys didn't "leave" the old server. It imploded, and Fugi never revived it.

2. My server, my rules. Unless you want to start paying some money to keep the server going, what I say goes. It's in the rules at Spawn when you first join the server. Clearly, you've forgotten them.

3. My main concern is that players not change other people's builds without notice. You modified the rail track, which you didn't build, without notification or authorization. I had plans for a roof, but not like that. Also, the switch-over is atrocious.

4. You know the rail lines are my little pet project, and yet you decided to mess with them anyway, just to screw with me.

5. I don't know what it is about the end of the year that makes people want to defy the rules. It happened last year, too.

6. The server is down because it's going to be a major project for me to fix the major project of vandalism, so I'm doing it offline. I'll probably also get some of the bits of my "To-Do" list done, on my own terms.

Edit: I'm looking into adding some administration mods to prevent you guys from doing this again. Therefore, getting the server back up will probably take a while, since I need to learn a whole new set of things, and figure out what to use and how to use it.

Look forward to seeing some more of those "To-Do list" things getting done. That's usually exciting. Except when it's something that I'll never notice, of course, like fixing the authorization plate. You checked that off LONG before I knew you had fixed it, because why would I need to get authorized again?

Anyway, I know I haven't been on lately, but school'll be over in a few weeks, so let us know! :)

So good news...

I'm now running Win 7 64-bit, so I can run MC at full render distance an hopefully it won't kill my machine when I walk past the map building. Huzzah!

The bad news is I'm still working like mad on this literature review for my PhD, interspersed with sessions in Kerbal, though I might try to use that escape time to do some more on T'mir so I can call it finished at some stage.

Memo, I'll try to catch you online at some point to pitch a build idea, but probably no sooner than after my next meeting with my supervisor on Thursday.

P.s. Did you get that code for the Beno map generator?

Yes. Still working on updating it. It's finicky. Still better than hand-drawing it, though.

Memo, can you remind me of the server details? I can't find them in the forum thread. (Maybe you could include them in your siggy for people to find from anywhere on the forum? ;))

mc.lrrcraft.com

It's currently offline, though.

Make sure to check out technic, that's what my old server switched to.

When I ran things we always had players confused with updates, because it would be a week or more sometimes until our essential plugins / mods were updated. As I understand, you decide what MC and plugin versions to push to players with technic, so there isn't ever an issue like that. Once everything is updated, you just update the server and push the new plugin pack.

sidenote: I didn't die last week. Very nearly, but not quite.

Thing is, we don't use any plugins. Memo has figured the whole thing out with command blocks and built-in server stuff. It's vanilla!

Oh I know that, but he has talked about the possibility of plugins. There are some very useful admin plugins that can make life a lot easier for a server admin. That's where the fun part comes in, trying to figure that all out.

Yeah. I'm only investigating plugins currently to be informed who placed or destroyed what blocks, and also probably easy reversion.

That could have solved 2 issues over the past year.

If Fugiman is still around he might be able to give you some good pointers. His setup on the LRRcraft server worked pretty good.

Yeah, until it crashed and burned.

That was not an issue with the admin plugins, though. From what I recall, they were all widely used in the Minecraft community at the time.

I don't agree with your statement of it crashing and burning. It certainly didn't end the way any of us wanted, but this was NOT caused by Minecraft itself or the plugins we used. More a case of not following the rule of "You will always need one more backup" at an inopportune time.

PS: Have you made a backup of your server recently? (Just curious)
