Persona?

Postby Longshot » 21 Nov 2010, 18:20

I've been watching Desert Bus, and earlier in the chat, someone was discussing the Persona games.

Now, the chat was moving a tad too fast for me to engage in a longer conversation about it, so I figured I'd ask here, since odds are some of you that was discussing it are also on here. Or just someone else who have played them.

Are they worth getting off Amazon? I am tempted, but one thing is that I will have to buy them, another thing is that I will have to dig my PS2 out of my parent's basement, and they live in another town, and...
I am not that experienced with JRPGs. I have played FF 1, 2, 5, 7, 8 and 9 and loved them. I have played Disgaea 3, and didnt get far before it was forgotten in favour of other games. I played Eternal Sonata and hated it.

In short: Is it worth it? And which one to get, if so?

Most definitely worth getting, I honestly think they are one of the best JRPG series of all time. The ones definitely worth getting are Persona 3 FES and Persona 4 (maybe 4 more than 3, but that's only because I haven't actually got through 3 yet). Most definitely do it if you can!

I did spot there was a FES thing besides regular Persona 3. It's not just a sequel? It's also the original Persona 3? So it's like Kingdom Hearts Final Mix?

Thanks... I am terribly undecided when it comes to spending money these days.

get the FES version, its got scaable difficulty and a 2nd shorter campaign that takes places after the main story and more stuff in general , as well as containing the full game.

they are both amazing JRPGs and are well worth it
Ok, for the record im a Guy

I am actually digging on the PSP version of Persona 3, a great little game for playing on the go, only problem it is not the FES version of the game which is annoying.

I was discussing Persona, I asked Kathleen if she thinks it was worth picking up P3P from PSN while the ATLUS sale was going on.

...Since this past friday, I've sunk 30-40 hours into the game. I'm fucking hooked.

I'm almost glad I didn't discover this game earlier, otherwise I wouldn't be enjoying this awesome title at a great price and following the fall gaming market flood.

I started to play the Persona series but I did it wrong. You're suppose to play Persona 3 FES first, then move onto Persona 4 and be awed by the improvements. In any case, I liked the darker story in Persona 3 but the combat and social linking is a bit frustrating at times
