Get used to that. You're very lucky if anyone does read the chat and decide to co-operate with you.

Still, a demoman or spy is usually enough to take out a sentry around corners if you can't get people to come give you a hand.

I had a similar problem earlier. I set up a teleporter inside the enemies base and no one used it :(
and now; back to me.

Guuuuuh. I miss TF2. And internet good enough to play it on. :c

Need to replace the PSU in my tower...hrm.

Note: in Ireland 'ye' is used as the plural of 'you'. It rather neatly avoids confusion online.

Solution: get a mic. Specially cuz all talk is on.

All Talk in TF2 is so fun.
I can put my hands in my head, and I can laugh it in the face.

Suggestion. Set the server to fast spawn, nobody likes playing on red and waiting 15 seconds when they can only wait 5.
Maybe think of having an RTV in there, everytime the map changes you get to vote crit or no crit and insta spawn or non instaspawn (Server i used to play on in aus had that, was the most played server in aus XD)

Wow, 24 people online and I recognize 2 names. O_o I am a terrible lurker.

That said, I think the server is public, so people other than LRR may be joining. If this is ever a problem, let me know.

Oh and Vanguard, we are working on getting you full access to the server files so that you can change whatever you want. Just have to remove access to everything ELSE first :P

This may sound retarded, but how do I get onto the server? I can't seem to find it...

EDIT: I found it, crisis averted. So when are y'all usually on?

So, apparently the server gets pretty full now. That is unexpected, didn't realize so many LRRites played TF2. That, or they are random people, which would be interesting.

Vanguard has access to derp with the server at will, so we should get some actual administration going. We're also going to edit the map rotation, so if you have suggestions let us know!

Hopefully by the end of the day I'll be able to trudge up whatever more than likely obsolete knowledge I have about how to handle this shit. After that I'll implement things like an admin plug-in, "rock the vote", an actual map rotation, and so on.

Honestly, I like the stock rotation right now (what with all the maps in various updates), but I can probably think of a few maps that could go in. Never tried koth_apeture_science, but it looks interesting. Cashworks is always a good time. pl_waste has an interesting concept, but I've seen nothing but steamrolls with it.

Also, I'm tempted to see what the welcome screen is changed to, when you get around to it.

Might I suggest LRRites who are using a non-derivative name on steam from their forum name add in a {LRR} to their name?

Makes it easy to tell us apart.

For example, MowDownJoe doesn't need it, as he's just that on steam, but I'll throw it on because I'm Levi_theDreamer.

Which I think is close enough, but whatever.

Personally, I'd prefer EVERY LRRite have some sort of LRR tag, just so I can learn people's names easier (Did I mention I am a fail lurker?), but I won't impose that on you all. :)

Though, people I know are LRRites will receive reserve slots ;)

I think this would be best if for no other reason than that we can roughly determine how many people are there from the forums and how many are people who have stumbled upon the place. When I checked out the server it was nearly full, maybe recognized one name and noticed several other sort of "clan" tags that indicated to me that they likely weren't LRRites.

Server down for a bit while Vanguard loads up the mods.

Apparently people were complaining? I can't really read response well from the console. Sorry to interrupt your play time :(

Cool, I'll be sure to check it out. Kinda on and off TF2 as of late, but I was quite the player in my day. Strange Kris, by the way, in case the signature isn't a clue. And fine, might as well put a tag on, seeing as my Steam Avatar is always changing...
EDIT: Idea, seeing as the [LRR] tag is a bit more geared toward the LRR crew, why not use a different tag? [LRRfan] was suggested to me, I tend to like it. Simple, clear, and identifiable, if not that, maybe [LRRite] or some such tag.

For the sake of simplicity when it comes to clan tags, it's better if you just stick with [LRR]. Besides, crew or not we're all part of the same community anyway.

Oh, and hopefully by nights end the server will have admin functionality. I'll get onto properly configuring rock the vote and the map rotation next.

Keep in mind that I'm probably going to set the server to a three or four map set rotation, but with rtv you can vote on any map loaded onto the server to change to it at any time.
