In a move that will likely surprise no one, SW:TOR is going free to play. I'll be interested to see how it works out for them. Most of the other big MMOs that have done this have made huge increases in profits, and I suspect with the popularity of the franchise this will be no different.

They have to. I don't think people enjoy subscribing to play a odd Bioware RPG, with force multi-player elements.

Perhaps I might play it again casually and have fun playing a Lightside Sith Inquisitor.

Perhaps then, if Tera realises how stupid it is to be p2p, WoW will be the only p2p MMO and the playerbase might start being, annoyed at that. I'm sure WoW could cover the money they lose with f2p model with releasing all Minipets as microtransactions.

I'm actually more inclined to give this game a look now that it's going F2P. I've never been particularly fond of sub. fee games, simply because I feel like I *have* to constantly play them.

I agree I always felt that if I didnt get to play at least two hours for every dollar spent I was wasting my money.

I'm the same way. I enjoyed the game mildly in beta, but not nearly enough to justify making it all I played for a month. But once it's free I just might play it a bit.
