Database fixed. I've added a "Revert Database" feature to the admin panel for future mess-ups. Good luck.

Oh, and I updated the about page.

A stock-market type of system being built around a comedy troup's news show involving awesome hats being ridiculous? MADNESS!

Huh, that's strange. I'm sure I got the numbers right that time and now it's worse than before.

Works now

I bought all the HATS. I won't be shorting anything this week I think. I'm not sure the NADA is as high as it will go.

PS: I find it oddly amusing the market confidence and investment charts show just about only what I've done with my money. Screw the rest of you  *lights cigar with 1000 dollar bill*

Looking at the bottom of the leaderboard, how did LackingSanity, who is $5.5 quadrillion in the hole and presumably owns no shares, manage to make $10.24 this week?

Shorted all NADA and bought all HATS. This choice will either make me or break me.

I'm guessing it has to due with lack of precision somewhere down the calculation line. Database confirms that LackingSanity owns no stocks.

Looks like the market might be split for decisions this week. (I went for HATS)

I don't think Spec is far enough below average to warrant a hefty investment. Going in on Hats.

See, I don't trust HATS enough to put money in there for now. SPEC can jump quickly.

I went about 70% HATS and 30%SPEC and shorted NADA

Yea, but the thing about SPEC is that it can drop rather quickly too. I feel we're overdue for a 'SPEC-less' episode as it is. And HATS has the most room for profit as well. With nobody really shorting it, I feel it's more likely for them to be included for the hell of it.

Gambler's fallacy on "we're due for a drop". :p

It's just as likely we'll see it increase.

The thing is HATS can't go down to zero since there is always a hat at the end of the episode. SPEC can easily go down to zero by having two non glasses wearing co-hosts. While that isn't very likely seeing as Kathleen, Matt, Alex, and Paul wear glasses there is always the chance for a James, Jer, or non-crew member co-host episode resulting in SPEC going down to zero.

HATS has more room to grow (Being further below it's average than SPEC is) and is less likely to go down to zero due to the "There may be better sources for news, but they don't have this hat!" segment. SPEC is unlikely to go down much further since Paul and Kathleen seem to be more readily available and Graham has said that Feed Dump co-hosts are picked by who is in the Moonbase when he films it.

In short: both stocks are likely to go up, but safety lies in diversity.

Argarble. I swear I was gonna go under after my first number run. Thankfully NADA went down enough to the point I'm actually fine. Got about a trillion from it. Here are my numbers for the week:

SCEN: 54
HATS: 5 -09.259
SPEC: 33 -61.111
NADA: 18 33.333
NPEW: 4 -07.407

Now, there is one shot that I wasn't sure about. The quick-shot of Alex in what looked like sunglasses. They weren't the obnoxious police glasses, so I'm not sure if they counted towards SPEC or NPEW. Considering they were sunglasses I went with SPEC. As well, there's another quick-shot with Alex wearing what looked like two hats. I counted that as a HATS shot.

I thought SPEC was only Prescription Glasses, making all forms of Sunglasses (unless otherwise specified) NPEW.

My point was that I'm not sure if they're prescription sunglasses or something similar, or if they're just normal sunglasses. But that's why I went with NPEW anyways.

Typically one of the crew will mention here if irregular forms of eyeware are prescription. Otherwise, just assume NPEW.

T_T It was likely due to the fact I was using slow internet that kept sputtering. Oh well.
