That's a good question, Yaxley.
I am eagerly awaiting the hat stats because I'm not sure at all where my money currently stands...

Re: The Hat Market Game
Do you wear binoculars? No, you don't. They're a prop, not eyewear.
So, let's take a look at the performances.
Hats went down from 50% to 21.43.
Prescription Eyewear went down from 67.19% to 54.76%.
NPEW and Wigs are now both at 0%.
Hatless was the one bright spot, up from 28.13% to 40.48%.
So, how'd that affect everyone? Well, in order of gain this week.
1. SilPho: Our superstar investor so far. Two weeks, two perfect bids. He's gone up to $6,886. Gain this week: $2,101.
2. JackSlack: A perfect bid this week, but had less capital to spend than SilPho. Gone up to $2,592. Gain of $791.
3. EikoAndMog: Held back this week in uncertain waters following the haturation. Despite being mostly in liquid, he's gone up to $5,224. Gain of $439.
4. Duckay: Like EikoandMog, held back a bit, but had the instincts to find the small gain in a bad week. Her investments are up to $2,496. Gain of $439.
5. Master Gunner: After a tepid first week, saw a stronger return this week. Currently worth $1,629. Gain of $439.
6. Iamafish: Recovered his losses of the first week, and then made some back. Currently estimated as being worth $1,120, with a gain of $220.
7 (tie). Jamfalcon: A new entrant. Stumbled on Wigs, but a gain in Hatless. Came away with a gain of $151 to achieve $1151.
7 (tie). LackingSanity: Ditto Jamfalcon. Both had the exact same week. Gain of $151, total 1151.
9. MowDownJoe: Lost some in Prescription Eyewear, but recovered it in Hatless. Worth $2,517, and gain of $141.
10. Haberley: Ah, the pain of rebuilding. Still, wise investments this week saw a claw back to $433 with a gain of $90 this week.
11. nicholasmc1: Some stumbles, but overall edged out ahead. Worth $1,269, gain of $83.
12. Goat: Held back and thus saw limited gains. Gain of $76. Worth $1,412.
13. Yaxley Another newcomer! Saw some limited gains of $63, but at least didn't lose anything. Up to $1063.
14. Gap Filler: Oh dear. Here begins the pain of haturation. Gap Filler lost out, to the tune of $170 down. Worth $2,963 though, so he ain't hurting.
15. Geoff_B: By contrast, Geoff B needed a win this week, and didn't find it. He's worth $876 after losing $187 this week.
16. RytelCSF: Let his investments roll over, and took some beating as a result. Down $471, worth $1,605.
17. HummingbirdJames: A big bid on wigs, and a loss. Down $649, to $1,152.
18. Exachix: Ouch. Took a bath this week. Down $936 to a total $848.
19. dackwards d: And finally, a moment of silence for dackwards d. He bid high on wigs, and lost everything. Farewell, good sir. Loss of $3,349, to $0.
So, the amounts people can bid this week is:
1. SilPho:$6,886.
2. EikoAndMog: $5,224.
3. Gap Filler: $2,963.
4. JackSlack: $2,592.
5. MowDownJoe: $2,517.
6. Duckay: $2,496.
7. Master Gunner: $1,629.
8. RytelCSF: $1,605.
9. Goat: $1,412.
10. nicholasmc1: $1,269.
11. Iamafish: $1,120.
12. HummingbirdJames: $1,152.
13. Jamfalcon: $1,151.
13. LackingSanity: $1,151.
15. Yaxley $1063.
16. Geoff_B: $876.
17. Exachix: $848.
18. Haberley: $433
19. dackwards d: $0. If you can find someone to loan you money, you could come back!
Anyone else want in at $1000?

Oh, and no penny stocks this week. Both NPEW and Wigs are off limits.

Re: The Hat Market Game
yeah ill jump in at $1000
all of it on Prescription Eyewear
all of it on Prescription Eyewear
Re: The Hat Market Game
I was surprised by the numbers for Prescription Eyewear this week, one would think with Kathleen and Matt in there it would have fared better.
Very tough call for next week's bids. With only three categories sitting in precarious positions I will make the executive decision to withdraw from next week's race.
This may have the knock-on effect of leaving me out of contention for two, possibly three consecutive dumps. I shall be traveling with my supermodels using my new-found wealth. (Read: Traveling with friends using the remainder of my real-life savings). So if I don't amend my bets just leave me as a null investor until further notice.

Re: The Hat Market Game
Understood, Mr. SilPho. All investments into liquid. Enjoy your holiday, sir. Here are your tickets, and the limo is waiting at the curb.
Re: The Hat Market Game
Whoo! Go Wigs!
548 in prescription eye-wear, 300 in... hatless.
Maybe now I can regain some dignity.
EDIT! After some deliberation, I've altered my categories.

Re: The Hat Market Game
Ok.... can I join in half way??? If yes I wanna put 500 prescription eye-wear, 300 hats, 200 hat less. That sound give me a good start off anyway. More risks when I have the money to risk.

Re: The Hat Market Game
I'll be pulling all my investments in Hatless but keeping the prescription eyewear investment the same. It's gotta come back!
Re: The Hat Market Game
Slow and steady wins the... hat market?
Everything to liquid, and then 300 on hats.

I'll go with everything except $601 into liquid. $300 goes into Hats, $300 goes into Prescription Eyewear and $1 goes into Hatless.

I think hats are going to go back up. I'll withdraw all of my investments, and put $500 into hats.

I'm starting. 700 in hats, 300 liquid. This should be interesting.

I'm putting everything back into cash reserves. The market's too unstable right now.

I can't imagine that anything is reliable at the moment... I'm just going to play it safe, turn everything to liquid this week.

Re: The Hat Market Game
Before I invest, can someone explain the 'stocks' to me? It seems self-explanatory, but I'm confused.
- If 'hatless' means shots without any hats, and 'hats' means shots with hats, why don't they add to 100%?
