What, the armour you have to be a higher level to make is not the best? Well thats just stupid. BTW, thanks.
He hoped and prayed there wasn't an afterlife. Then he realized there was a contradiction involved here, and merely hoped there wasn't an afterlife.
Re: Ye Olde Official Skyrim Discussion Thread (Spoilers?)
Yeah, it's ridiculous. Took me two days to get 100 smithing only to find that out.

What Iv'e learned? That nearly every scene from the main quest in skyrim would look sweet airbrushed on the side of a van. That and that the first expansion for skyrim should have the soundtrack done by RUSH.

No idea. I'd imagine that as you retake the whole of Skyrim in the Rebellion campaign and so the imperial area would become stormcloak, that it wouldn't affect your relationship with your NPC beloved.

This made me SO ANGRY.

Found an NPC who lives in Imperial area, but I feel obligated to help the Nords reclaim Skyrim. So if I marry her and choose Stormcloak, I wonder what would happen? Any ideas, anyone?
Almost all of them survive. I did exactly this and she's still around.
Re: Ye Olde Official Skyrim Discussion Thread (Spoilers?)
I had that bug, only with Whiterun. See, I'm starting to wonder if it IS a bug. Do not fast travel to these towns. Fast travel to somewhere a reasonable distance away and walk to it. That's how I fixed it.

Re: Ye Olde Official Skyrim Discussion Thread (Spoilers?)
Oh the glitch isn't permanent. You can just fast travel to somewhere near it and walk to it and all the army will load up on your current save. They're not IN Solitude, they're NEAR Solitude, preparing for the attack. So if I remember right, the East Trading Company is your safest bet to fast travel.

I was a Nord Warrior who got 100 sneak and lockpicking without the skeleton key. And never put a perk in either. I honestly think it's something Oblivion did better. When you were 100 lockpicking, YOU WERE 100 LOCKPICKING!

Re: Ye Olde Official Skyrim Discussion Thread (Spoilers?)
Got it for 360. I'm pretty early on. My only weird piss of is my first companion disappeared at some point and I can't find her, and I loaded her up with some sweet lootz.
Anyways, had a HIlarious dagron fight yesterday. Hired a merc in Windhelm, hiked into the wilds to find the dragon. Shot it with a couple arrows, it came down and started flaming my merc. Alright then, I'm a Nord Heavy Warrior, but I'll shoot it instead. So I'm peppering it with some weak arrows while the other guy is questioning his chosen career path (and just how flame-retardent his cheapo armour is), when lo and behold a troll rolls up and beats the dragon to death. Then wanders off. Good times.

Clearing a random pond of enemies, a disembodied penis started floating across the battlefield.
Like, what?
Now that's a bug.

Not joking. Wish I could have taken a screenshot, but 360 you see. A giant, erect pecker - shaft up, jewels below - eerily hovering over the landscape. Gives me the creeps.

Re: Ye Olde Official Skyrim Discussion Thread (Spoilers?)
I was rather displeased with the ending of the game, the whole build up to the final fight was amazing and getting your hands on, and using an actual Elder Scroll was fucking amazing. But the last guy went down like a pussy, I was expecting an epic struggle but I whooped his ass first try with no real effort.
I have to wonder how powerful they intended heroes to be upon that encounter, as I was 32-34 at the time with full Legendary Dragon Armor and a Daedric Sword.
Can only imagine how easy it would have been had I taken the time to enchant all my gear.

Re: Ye Olde Official Skyrim Discussion Thread (Spoilers?)
I heard increasing the difficulty to Master makes it way harder. I've not tried that yet because I've actually installed a mod that makes boss fights proper boss fights, like Dragons, Deathlords and so on. And I'm hurting as a mage to beat them on normal!
But this mod also did re-balance mages so we can't stun-lock. WAY more fun now though.

If anyone's playing this on PC, I STRONGLY recommend SkyBoost from the Skyrim Nexus. It greatly increases performance by a LOT!

Got any suggestions for UI mods?
At level 15 I finally found the run key! This game really is not optimised for PC...

Do you not pay attention to tutorials?
I just swapped run and crouch.

There's your list of UI mods on the site there. I personally don't use any but maybe you'll find one you like. Oh, also strongly recommend Skyrim Nexus Mod Manager. Makes installing, disabling, uninstalling and reorganising load orders so much easier.

Tutorial covered very little. Heck it never showed me how to equip magic. I didn't even realise you started out knowing a spell...

Re: Ye Olde Official Skyrim Discussion Thread (Spoilers?)
can someone answer this. in the companions questline the next quest i have is to steal plans from "something" tooth. is it possible to get the werewolf cure while in the middle of the companions questline or do i need to finish it first. i hate missing the well rested bonus for smithing so i want the wolf gone.
Re: Ye Olde Official Skyrim Discussion Thread (Spoilers?)
You need to finish it first and speak to Kodlak apparently. I've not done this myself on my Nord but that seems to be the case.

Yeah, I should get back into my training too. I just had to take a break because I was too excessive, too often.
But yeah, one thing I absolutely love is never fast travelling. It lets you see more of the world, things you'd never seen before, scenery at different times of day that look completely new. I have ALWAYS said that Oblivion was the better game but Skyrim was the better world.
And fast travelling is getting the civil war quests royally fucked over too so maybe that's the way it was meant to be played? And if that's the case, that also annoys me. Why give us an option if we're forced to adhere to one way?

I found a Body Mod and a collection of skimpy armour. I'm going to have some new shallow enjoyment of Skyrim!
