I'm actually going on Desolation. But that server is swarmed as hell as it is so I'm just hoping my guild can get in. If not, there may be talks of transferring.

I'm going to Piken Square. I've at least alerted my nomadic group (potential) guild of this camp site. Not sure how many of us with settle. £ for sure (including me) and 2 others who may be free spirits and 2 possible future ones. I have a friend who's depressed at lack of healers and I am trying to comfort him by saying "The Guardian is the closet to the thing you know".

I'm going to be on Piken Square also with my roleplaying guild and my alt guild which will be reserved for me and some friends of mine. Van, you'll also want to consider that Piken is an EU server. Once they introduce the guesting feature it won't matter which server you're on.

Alright, I think I'm going to try to make camp in the Crystal Desert server (unless I hear anything from any US-based runners or any other friends of mine).

Seems good! Providing you have peoples in-game names added on your contacts list you can still at least whisper them anyway regardless of server. And once guesting goes live you can play with people on other servers too.

My account name is Enyo.4319 if anyone wants to try to track me down.

I'm likely going to pass on this one. Spent so much time playing that I've run out of shit to do .... xD (Well, shit that wouldn't involve a lot of time/effort and since the beta data is being wiped.....).

So for the people that think they'll be 80 in a week? I got to level 3 in an hour! KNOWING what to do!

I don't have expectations for speed.
I also don't want to rush as the level up experience looks so rich. We also know little about 'end game'.

The people who think they'll get to lv 80 in a week are 1) fucking morons and 2) obviously have no life.

I will NEVER understand the people who insist on zooming through a game as if they have to prove some kind of point.

Also, getting to level 3 doesn't take *that* long. :P You're just doing it wrong if it's taking you an hour ;)

I had to get through tutorial! I had to beat back the Sons of Svanir event! I had done several exploration and skill challenges! At the end of it, I was barely half way to level 4!

And yes, I do know about the end game. Reknown hearts are gone and the land is rampant with the undead and dragons and their champions. You are left to run around and explore to try to find events. Then you got the mystic forge for your legendary weapons, you got your dungeons and you have the earlier lands to explore. Also there's more to be added later on across the entire world for free every month or so once the game settles down.

I never time myself. But I do find I can complete the starting zone in a day.
That's if I'm not playing a Necromancer which I am struggling to find enjoyable sadly in PvE :( (I loved them in GW1).

It's like feeling part of my soul is missing, i.e. the rest of my party group which I don't have.

The Staff mine system is fun, but is a lot of work for PvE questing to set up an ambush for each mob (setting one up for groups risk other 'helpful players swooping in and disrupting it).

Now see....completing the starting zone in a day is fair enough. I'm thinkin' more of the people that try to beat the entire game in a day (and I've heard of it happening in Guild Wars).

Oh, I beat Nightfall the very first day it came out and sold the end game dervish scythe for 200k. So many people struggled on Shiro and the Lich and the Bastion waves. Whereas I'm good enough to actually take the time to think things through and plan accordingly!

The extension games for me tended to get released during my exam periods :P So I didn't have the luxury to spend all my time doing them:)
Besides I used to dick around in PvP on ALL occasions.

(primary game, factions and nightfall).

Jesus Christ. Seriously? Last time I was in GW1 I was still stuck at the Gates of Desolation (damn sandworms).

I shake my head at you, Dark.... :P

And Van, that mission actually isn't that difficult to be honest. General rule of thumb I apply is; When in doubt - wiki is your friend.

In Diablo 3 I can easily earn 100k+ in an hour. That's relevant, right? :P

For UK, 8am official. 5am the servers are opened for staff purposes and we can pick our servers, reserve our names and so on during that time. Whether or not we can actually play beyond that, I have no idea.

Launch time is 2 AM here in Kansas City. Since I don't really have anything to do tomorrow I'm yet to decide whether or not I'm going to stay up that late.

In my past experience (WoW Expansions) don't. You'll get gripped and find it hard to stop, then when the sun starts to rise, you'll realise your folly.
Then your sleep pattern is ruined for a month.

Just sleep and wake up early. Enjoy a full waking day of GW2.
