3D jumping puzzles can go to hell.

3D climbing is fine (scaling buildings, jumping up ledges. If you fail the jump you can retry immediately from that point [in less you're an idiot].

I don't see the enjoyment of falling off halfway through and having to START ALL OVER AGAIN.

Especially since platforming doesn't work well in 3d.

Try being a Norn doing the Lion's Arch jump puzzle. You know what I saw most of the time? FIRST PERSON VIEW FULL SCREEN WALL WITH A JUMP BEHIND ME! I was reminded of playing a Sonic the Hedgehog 3D game!

I think I completed Sonic 3d. In honesty it wasn't 3d. It was 2.5D.

Oh I mean from 2006 onwards. The kind where the camera angles fuck you and you fall to your death and actually fall through the ground itself.

Sounds fun.

I think I know how to play my Necromancer (with the awful skill sets).

I'll try and level her up without killing anything, organic or inorganic. Will be an interesting concept. A Necromancer that holds life in such high regards that she will never snuff it out.

I'm suffering a bit of withdrawal. Only 5 more days until I'm home again, playing some more PvP...

I have a level 16 Sylvari Elementalist named Ros Solis (Latin for "dew of the sun" - it's a reference to the carnivorous sundew plant, which is my most favourite plant. Go check out a video of how it catches and noms its prey, it's so cool)

I designed and coloured her with a rhubarb in mind, because 2 cups rhubarb, sliced. 2/3 cups granulated rhubarb. 1 tbsp all-purpose rhubarb. 3 tbsp rhubarb, on fire. 1 large rhubarb. 1 cross borehole electro-magnetic imaging rhubarb.

I keep making new characters but I always end up hating them in the end. I see people wielding bows and I think to myself, "I like bows! I wish I could do that," or something similar, but when I get down to trying to start a character as any other class I lose drive and go back to my beloved carnivorous rhubarb.

I'm trying to find a better dagger because I really like the Elementalist dagger/focus skills. Staff's okay and I still appreciate it, but it's nice to change things up. At the moment I have a sceptre/focus combo which I'm not too keen about but it's the best weapon drop I've found so far.

Have you tried crafting some weapons, Aubergine?

Had a scare.
Someone tried changing my password so it flagged my account.

I had to confirm THIS network is trustworthy. To do that, I had to randomly check my emails (junk folder) because any error messages didn't say clearly.
I then had to CHECK my own IP and Google map the IP town used (what hackers are GB based? I had to check).

I was scared I was about to lose so much. I have never been hacked before, and I am terrified of ever being hacked. I'm worried if my account has been damaged.

Yeah I have, but I don't know how to get new recipes. Maybe I should look that up.

Also I'm not trained in weaponsmithing yet, so no daggers for me.

Doing all right with Lozarth Crookes, my human thief. I suck at naming characters. Looking forward to trying out my engineer tomorrow.

I'm tempted to create a healer of some kind, just not sure what the best class would be for that.

Or ask me!

Later on, you need to discover new recipies on your own. Now to do this, you need to make the components of the weapon and make an inscription of that level. Bronze gets jute or green wood, iron gets wool or soft wood and so on.

Then you need to have 3 blue items (or 8 for iron in some cases!) like blood or scales.

Once you got your inscription, go to discovery tab. Put your components in and then an inscription of what you want.

You get FAR more exp for discoveries than you do crafting so discover as much as you can! I got from 38 to 39 doing that tonight!

Given your name, you might enjoy Water Elementalist Dagger/Dagger because you get to throw swords at people like a boomerang and also heal.

Water elementalists and rangers are said to be the two greatest healers. However, healing is pretty redundant for the most part if your party thinks a heal means they can stay in AoE. They will ALWAYS damage more than you can heal in a single strike. All healing does is patch you up to take one more hit.

So have the ability to heal but don't rely on healing.

I dislike crafting.
I love everything about it, but there's one huge glaring flaw.

Levelling 1 to 15 and harvesting every node doesn't give you enough materials to get to the 15-25 zone of harvesting materials. In fact doing it twice (which I have done, just about gets you to the next tier of mats, almost.)

So I have no idea how crafting is meant to work. It means there's a huge demand for materials but I expect there won't be enough people to fulfil this demand. It means, the power of the items you craft will always be much lower than the actual power of you yourself.

So I beg the question, what is the point of it at all?. Gearing up alts? Getting to the illusive max level just so you can craft uber stuff. If it's the latter, then the point of crafting is one huge artificial grind.

I love everything else, gaining exp, being able to store crafting mats asap, speed of crafting increases with a huge load. But the core is ruining it for me. I feel like there's no point and I am better off selling everything I harvest instead.

Rangers are not good healers. Guardians are. Warriors and Mesmers can be. Not Rangers.

The only party healing skills I can think of that Rangers have are Healing Spring (combo field that spreads Regens) and their elite Nature spirit (which can heal and res). But the cooldowns aren't really conducive to being a party healer with either of those.

Quickly approaching my first lv 30 character! And I've not even used any XP buffs or really heavily explored other regions yet.

Still only explored Queensdale. Why do I insist on 100%ing everything?

Also, I and a group of other people took down this giant demon thing in a swamp. Which was awesome.

Apologies for getting excited over tiny things, this is the first MMO since Runescape I've gotten really into.

Started a charr guardian named Nepeth (reference to Nepeta cataria - catnip. All right, I admit it: I'm a Bio nerd. However I sort of regret that I didn't add a last name. Can't be assed to start over though)

Having a lot of fun. After playing an elementalist for so long, the ability to fight more than one enemy without an ally is refreshing. Plus greatswords are awesome. Really love the fire-breathing ability of the offhand torch as well. :D

I got to so far as 2 seconds before I ruined my project of 'levelling a necromancer to 80 without killing'.
They're not too bad. I think I thought they were underwhelming because so much of their spells apply debuffs and I thought this was at the expense of damage. I now realise that Condition Damage is very potent.
Still unsure of what weapon combo to use.
Dagger/Dagger seems very likely, but I also need a ranged and preferably AoE weapon set as well.

TINY things?! THE SHADOW BEHEMOTH IS HUUUUGE!

And Tim, I don't know how a Guardian can be the best healer without that 30 point elite tome. I finally got that last night and now I feel ready for dungeons.

Before that, I had tried healing breeze and the werewolf form's howl and any way I could to keep my party on their feet. And I've specced some into healing as well! It just doesn't seem very viable.

Now that I have the elite that can heal up to 5 party members for 100% every 3 minutes (I'm calling it now, that will be nerfed) then I think I can provide more benefits to my dungeon party rather than holding the line and stopping anything getting past me while doing big damage.
