Selling cards got me The Witcher 3 and its season pass for free thanks to the discount. I'm happy now.

Plus, it allowed me to get a few games for friends for cheap!

Made 64p that sale, and lost £3 on a purchase.

So given Twitch chat direct control of ones inventory in Fallout 4 quickly results in all the chem addictions. Exactly as intended.

Periodically playing bits of Skyrim.
Given Skyrim lacks exciting quest chains, it's fun playing it as a living-in-a-fantasy-world-as-a-fighter Simulator. Go into random places, see what happens. Unexpected enemies in the bagging area.

Playing as an archer.

This is when playing other games don't really appeal. I try not to play a game obsessively and notice when I am not wanting to play it (WoW). Learning to de-jobify my gaming.

So I finished Undertale last night. I'm going to post more of my thoughts in a bit. But it was a lot of fun. I will say that, if you want to play it, do not learn -anything- about it. It spoils one major thing in the basic description. It's that you don't have to destroy anyone. The fact that's actually made obvious via outside context is really disappointing to me. I'll go into why when I do more of a write up though.

So I finally beat Civilization V on Deity difficulty. It took a while but I've managed diplomatic, domination and science victory. It's been fun trying out strategies and watching let's plays while playing myself.

DotA2 is a terrible game.
It's very unfriendly for players who play alone.
Doesn't let you swing the game. Win early game or get out.
The community is very toxic.

Given that you started your post with "Dota 2 is a terrible game", I doubt there's any point in trying to convince you otherwise, so... To each their own, I guess?

(My experience with Dota has been very different, and quite pleasant, so... Yeah...)

It's no one those games where if you finish it feeling irritable, it's best to not continue playing :P

When it feels like you're getting hate on all sides, it's an unpleasant experience. The answer is play with good friends.

Every time I watch Cam play, XCom 2 gets higher on my Steam wishlist. I'm sticking with Fallout 4 at least until its on sale or I finish some more of my backlog though :-)

Watching Cam play XCOM got me to finally play through the game myself. It was great up until the last cutscene where it kept crashing, thus keeping me from getting the achievement and additional second wave options.

Still, it was really fun, I'm glad I bought the game. It was nice to have the EW stuff too, the first time I tried a playthrough was just with the base content. Robotsmen were a great addition and I'm super glad that the XCOM2 Ranger has a melee weapon, even if it probably won't let me kill people through walls.
and now; back to me.

After being fascinated by the lore, I decided to give Dark Souls a try. My main issue with it so far is that I find it very difficult to control the camera, so against the first big boss I couldn't see where it is. I don't generally play many video games, and this is the first time I use a 360 controller. Any tips?

The biggest thing I think is knowing when to lock on to the enemies, and when not to. When you lock on, the camera tracks your target, but that can cause you to lose awareness of your surroundings - and with big bosses (or in tight spaces), the camera can go into weird angles and make you lose all visibility. So you need to learn when to switch back to free camera for movement and when to lock on for tracking/aiming. This (as well as just becoming more familiar with the 360 controller) will come with practice.

I think that the DSFix mod from nexus mods would be a good idea as well, assuming you're playing on PC. I'd also argue that Dark Souls is well supported by a walkthrough, especially or at least on a first playthrough.

As far as the controller goes, I ended up using my right thumb to control my camera and my right index finger to press buttons (on a playstation-style gamepad).

Thanks for the tips. I have been getting more accustomed to the camera, and generally feel more comfortable playing it. I am now facing the Gargoyles :)

I don't know if it is PC only but there is an option in Dark Souls called "Camera wall auto-recovery" turn that shit OFF. 90% of all camera complaints are eliminated if you do that, I have no earthly idea why it is enabled by default...

I got used to the camera, more or less. Managed to beat Capra Demon and Gaping Dragon, and now about to embark on the happy and peaceful journey through Blightown.

So the Dying Light Expansion pack is finally out, and it is actually pretty good. Sure, they've pretty much wholesale replaced free running with driving, turning the game into "Far Cry with Zombies" but it still works. I've put about 12 hours into it so far and I've still got a few more quests to clear out.

Even then, that doesn't really matter. Just driving around and exploring is fun enough.
and now; back to me.

I own Fable 3 for PC.
Any advice for getting it to run at all, or getting a refund?
