I got Last of Us. Someone recommended it to me. I beat it half an hour ago. I see why it got its acclaim but my fuck that ending. The fuck.

It's not bad. I just do not agree with the actions taken at all.

Ambiguous enough to spoil nothing.

Yeah, The Last of Us ending was pretty stupid.

I mean, I was pretty underwhelmed by the game in general; but the ending did make me go "Really?...Really?". If I recall correctly, they actually had a different ending, in that it was more of a cutscene rather than make you play it, but still...I felt it a pretty bizarre way to end it.

I finally have my first real Gaming Rig! Now I just need to find out what game I can use to put it through the ringer (that I can afford :P)

Has anyone set up a LRR club on Assassin's Creed Unity? I'd like to try to play co-op with a more organized group.

Console ports which weren't changed to acknowledge the existence of PCs.

So...Skyrim?

Skyrim runs fine on my system if everything is turned to minimum.

Try Heroes of the Storm. That was built on the infamous Starcraft 2 engine.
Not like Blizzard games to have a high toll gate for play, but they achieved it with that engine.

Star Citizen? Game's still in alpha, so it's highly unoptimized, on top of running a heavily modified version of CryEngine.

That's a brilliant idea!

Yeah, and heck - if you really wanna push that 'highly unoptimized' bit, you can always throw on a graphical mod or twelve.

Skyrim generally runs well enough even on hardware that's a couple of years old. Yes, the engine is garbage but that just means it'll randomly screw up and maybe run badly, not a real test of hardware.

For newer games, I'd go with Lichdom: Battlemage (Which is also a lot of fun) or heck, what about just plain old Crysis 3? It's gorgeous and it will probably overpower pretty much any hardware you throw at it.

Far Cry 3 is also a good choice and it's currently 75% off on Steam.

Heroes of the Storm you you can get in is worth a punt.

A competitive team-based multiplayer game with abilities you must aim and use at the right time that will randomly drag your FPS down to 5 when you need it the most. FUN.

I got Far Cry 3 - Blood Dragon gifted to me and it's all so pretty. And I'm pretty sure I'll get Dragon Age: Inquisition once it's out (You can input all your previous choices through an app or something, so swapping console is fine, yay!).

I already own Skyrim on Xbox, but might pick it up again if it is every super cheap on sale.

My Skyrim is heavily modded and runs flawlessly. I have maintained my computer to the level it can. It is, however, still a shitty console port.

Game pads in mind. Having to click around and press WASD to move around just to get to the skill I want.

Thank God for mods.

You see, I kind of like how Skyrim approached it. It basically said "yes, we made this with consoles in mind. But we've made the Steam Workshop available so mods can be implemented easily and effectively if desired to fix the stuff people don't like." Is it lazy? Well... yes. But it's effective and allows a much more customizable experience.

Mods keeps a game effectively immortal.

RCT3 is still suriving despite being 10 years old due to dedicated modders. The community is scattered, but it's there somewhere.

RCTW will probably murder RCT3 if RCTW is good enough.

True about the mods. I still play Oblivion. And yes sometimes I do play Skyrim. It has a lot of good and a lot of bad. You just gotta take the two together at times.

And there you have the facts of life! The Facts of Life!

All kidding aside, I still play Fallout 3 and New Vegas primarily because of the massive modding community. I've seen every inch of the vanilla game on both counts and I've still put hundreds of hours in modded playthroughs.

The FiF visited me again today. Picked up Smash Bros. Thankfully was lucky enough to snag the last controller bundle after a lot of searching. While I looked, I found out Toys R Us had a Buy 1 get 1 40% off deal. So I broke down and bought the two new Pokémon games, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Then I noticed they had a 3-for-$30 deal on Amiibos, which I find neat and wanted to try out. So I bought three (Fox, Link, and Pikachu).

All told, it came out to about $205. Thankfully, I'd just sold a bunch of cards for $105.

I think I'll be very disappointed if no-one (even a minor NPC) in Dragon Age: Inquisition doesn't say something along the lines of "NO-ONE EXPECTS THE ORELISION* INQUISITION!"

It's just too easy to pass up.

*Not sure how to spell Orelasian, so it's a rough guess.

Orlesian if I remember right. I've only played the first but if I remember right, that was Leia's race.

Right. Any point in Display Port? My GTX 970 comes with it and apparently DP is better than HDMI. But I also heard it only really matters for 4k gaming. 4k's barely a theory right now so I'm not going to dive at it just yet.

The only thing I've found DP good for is making me buy a different card, so I can use both my screens without having to buy a DP adapter.
