Well they confirmed that DFM should be out by the end of this month

However, people will be getting access to the multiplayer portion of the DFM in the order they backed the game. So it'll be a while before I get access even after it comes out (my "Citizen Number" is 230,000-something).

Fortunately the verses AI component we all get access to at the same time.

I sprung for the 300i. Once the game launches though, I have my sights set on the Avenger and a Freelancer (or maybe a Caterpillar). Though the Retaliator is looking mighty sexy too....

I've got the Aurora MR right now, but I'd like to upgrade to a Freelancer (or even better, a Constellation) once I get some more funds freed up.

Why must I sabotage every attempt I make to progress?

My compy needs 8Gb ram in order to run even just the hangar module for Star Citizen, and it's currently at 4Gb. I ordered the right speed (1333MHz) from a reputable firm in BC that I'd dealt with in the past; placed the order on Thursday...and the package arrived around 2pm Friday, just as I was going out the door to work.

I figured I'd let it wait until today after work to the easy install and then enjoy the shinyness of RSI's efforts.

...well, my dyslexia reared its ugly head; I popped open the bubble envelope to find a packaged 204-pin SODIMM card, not a 240pin DIMM card. The former is used in laptops, while the latter is used in desktops.

Double-checking the invoice online confirmed that yeah, I ordered the wrong one. Shouldn't be an issue - the packaging is unbroken - but I'll have to wait until after the holiday weekend for resolving the return and/or ordering the CORRECT memory stick!

Again, who up there apparently has an issue with me being able to DO anything with Star Citizen? ?

Looks like they just did an overhaul of the ship stats page. I may have to rethink my strategy.

The 300i now has less cargo capacity than the Avenger, in addition to being underpowered in a fight (even the "fighter" variant looks underpowered compared to the other fighters). So I think I may swap the 300i for either the Explorer or Racer variants (Explorer ups the cargo capacity and has a built-in jumpdrive, Racer has two engines and a bigger power plant), and definitely use the Avenger for a fighter craft (I would go for the Hornet, but honestly I don't like the look).

Of course, everything is just speculation until we have a chance to play with these ships (not to mention that everything's subject to change).

It does reinforce my plan to aim for the Caterpillar as my cargo ship. It'll probably be a whale, but dat cargo capacity.
