Re: I have the biggest boner right now. (Star Citizen/RSI)
....yeah, now I've got my eye on the Origin 315p, for that jump drive and better stats than the (currently unobtainable, anyway) Aurora LX.
...unless it'd be easier to buy and install a jump drive into my Aurora MR...
The 315p is $75 so I'd have to save up spending cash for a while...
...and all this is contingent on me getting enough effing RAM into my compy that I could even run the HANGAR MODULE!!!

Re: I have the biggest boner right now. (Star Citizen/RSI)
Heh, I have my own computer issues to deal with too - every so often (or every five minutes in a google hangout), my computer will jus hang for three minutes and then continue as If nothing happened. I don't even know what's causing it.
Everything's up in the air until we get closer to launch though. I know both the Connie and apparently the 300 have revamps coming down the pipe, and we don't even know what the ships feel like to fly yet.

Re: I have the biggest boner right now. (Star Citizen/RSI)
I assume we will still be able to melt ships until the PE launches so we should be able to get a good idea of what the ships feel like. Personally I got the cutlass for the maneuverability: 16 maneuvering thrusters! Although depending how it flies I might melt it for something else, just to try it out

Re: I have the biggest boner right now. (Star Citizen/RSI)
I've heard that if you only have one ship and you melt it, your pledge effectively gets reset and you lose your Alpha access and other early-backer bonuses. Supposedly the next version of the RSI website will have a way to directly change/upgrade your ships.

Ok then, just checked the FAQ and yup you can't melt if you only have one ship so i'll be sticking with the cutlass

Re: I have the biggest boner right now. (Star Citizen/RSI)
I do like the Cutlass, and could see myself switching to it depending on what happens with the 300. My main reasons for wanting to stick with the 300-series are that a)it's a sexy, sexy, beast (at least to me), and b)I like the idea of a versatile one-man ship that can do light cargo hauling, exploration, and as a bonus, still hold it's own in a battle.
...Really, for point b, switching to the Aurora would probably be my best bet for a starting ship right now.

Also, the Cutlass wont be in the initial launch of Arena Commander, so you'll get the opportunity to test out the Hornet, due to the Rent-A-Hornet program.

Yeah I know, although i'm probably not going to go with a hornet, I definitely want something with a big enough cargo hold, possibly use it for salvage, it seems perfect for maneuvering inside debris or asteroid fields

No! A delay! Oh well, The game crashing each time I do anything is barely actually playing.

At least they are being open about the reason for the delay and exactly what the problems are, i'd prefer a company that treats me like a reasonable human being so I have no problem with this

Yep, I don't understand why some people are actually complaining about the delay. We know what the bugs are. We know that it's unplayable.

Re: I have the biggest boner right now. (Star Citizen/RSI)
Yeah, but releasing it broken means bad PR. It's unavoidable.
And if they did have it, what would they do? Complain loudly about all the bugs and not play it until it was fixed anyway?
If the game is broken, no one is going to be able to test the game effectively.
"My camera was stuck looking up, and then the game crashed" would be all CIG would get from anyone, and they already know that that happens.

Don't get me wrong Volafortis, I agree with CIG's decision, on a positive note as of the last update it seems that the major bugs are fixed so soooon

Re: I have the biggest boner right now. (Star Citizen/RSI)
While the DFM still hasn't dropped, you can now purchase an upgrade package to change your ship without melting your game package. It's only available for the Aurora/300i/Hornet and variants right now though, and it doesn't look like there's any way to downgrade afterwards.

Re: I have the biggest boner right now. (Star Citizen/RSI)
Yep, it's out, but you'll need to wait for them to fix the patch, because it currently doesn't include the maps, so you get frozen on a load screen.
EDIT: Sounds like they already fixed it. In game now!

*Waits patiently for next payday to have the funds to buy the needed RAM, then ship it, and finally install it.*

Got the credit note...I think I could still order a single 8Gb ram stick...but I think I will wait until payday and buy two to get me to 16Gb total and give me more breathing room.
