Also a new concept ship for sale (the "Herald" InfoRunner - basically a server rack and antenna array strapped to a massive pair of engines), and two new in-hanger ships for sale: the Gladius (light fighter) and Redeemer (boarding/assault). Oh, and both the Herald and Redeemer come with LTI.

Anniversary Sale is live, bringing back pretty much every limited ship for sale again.

As a bonus, there will be a limited number of Aurora packages for $20 next Friday...alongside the $2500 destroyer for sale.

Hey Friends =D I just got this game yesterday. The moment I saw the Freelancer, I blacked out and had visions of living an explorer in my own firefly. When I woke up the money was missing from my bank account.

Yeah, I keep ship transferring what was originally a 300i. Upgraded to a 325a, and now it's a Cutlass Black. Hopefully I'll be able to slowly chain upgrades into a Constellation.

I hope they fix the handling on the Cutlass, cause right now it's impossible to accurately control.

I originally got a 300i which I turned into a 315p, after the Cutlass commercial I broke down and got that, but later switched it to a Gladiator when it went back on sale, and I got a Drake Herald during its concept sale.

I'd like to go back and just stick with the 300i/315p rather than starting the game with multiple ships, but I get impulsive at times, so this is what I have now.

Still limited to just Arena Commander at the moment, with dogfighting (both multiplayer and against bots) and racing modes.

The FPS module is due out "soon"(tm) - it will be playable on the floor at PAX East, and optimistic estimates put its release sometime in the next couple months.

The first parts of the planetside module (introduction of "towns"/NPCs and being able to buy stuff in-game) and Squadron 42 (the singleplayer campaign) are due out later this year. The last official word I heard of it all being tied together into the "Persistent Universe" beta was at the very end of this year - but I wouldn't expect it until 2016 sometime.

So this demonstration of the new damage system is absolutely insane.

Then there's this teaser for the Retaliator, which is making it hard to resist melting all my current ships for it.

I'm still waiting for the vanguard. I want to be a badass escort in the PU so it seems optimal.

I've heard that the Vanguard will likely be the first of the "Wave 4" ships to go up for sale, after the Hull C concept sale finishes off the "Wave 3" ships.

I thought they said in the last reverse the verse that the Vanguard would go on sale next

So, Alpha 2.0 dropped recently.

This updates contains a massive new map (2 million km a side), in orbit around a gas giant and containing multiple moons, space stations, and outposts. Alongside that come the first true multicrew ships and functionality, and the initial release of FPS combat (via a particular station filled with guns).
